It seems like these two would naturally become good friends. Both like sports, though Akane is more intense and violent, while Aoi just likes the competition. Even so, there are still things they both enjoy, like swimming or running. They both follow the trope of being super athletic but not that intelligent, though I feel like Aoi has emotional intelligence and Akane has street smarts. They are smart in ways many people overlook. Aoi has some self-image issues that someone as carefree as Akane might make her feel better about. Also, fun little fact, the "Aka" in Akane means red, and Aoi's name means hollyhock, a plant, but is also a homonym for blue. I know some people like red and blue ships. They have one event together in UTDP and a whopping five in DRS.
They both like the Bojobo Dolls, Hope's Peak Ring, and Rose in Vitro. They both hate the Kokeshi Dynamo and Millennium Prize Problems. This isn't a present, but they both like ramen.
