realising that avid's solution to people falling into the void is to trap them in a place they can't escape whilst another version of them is created to run around freely.
i wonder if limbo avid would approve of that. probably not.
anyway i think avid should turn the machine to hear the void back on, for no other reason than to hear his other half at the door.
because i think there's two outcomes right now of what he'd hear, right? either limbo!avid is screaming through that door, praying someone with the means to open said door will hear him. marm reached him, after all. if she got there, surely someone strong enough to rip the door off it's hinges can too.
alternatively, he's silent. he's praying nobody ever tries to reach him again. marm reached him, after all. and if she can reach him, what if olm can reach her?
so originally i thought that avid didn't really consider his friends as anything other than an extension of the deal with olm, right? cuz tubing them means they'll never see freedom again- hell it's pretty easily presumed they'll never see consciousness again, and I've argued the state he's leaving them in is no better than what his double in the void experiences.
but the way avid seemed genuinely concerned for Marm in the newest episode recontextualises that thought for me a little. clearly he does genuinely care for their safety, so it begs the question - are the clones lesser? are they expendable to him? sure, they're a necessity to keep appearances up on the server but they're still conscious beings, right? do they not deserve safety from falling into the void too?
and if he truly doesn't care for their survival, what does that say about his feelings on himself, a piece of a man now warped beyond his original form?
hi im back. ruby episode spoilers & avid episode spoilers
thinking about how avid is avoiding his issues (haha. avoid.) so much that he pawned ossha off to the birch kingdom and logiced it out as his sins being their fault now instead of even so much as waiting for trog and ruby to wake up (let alone apologise to them)
meanwhile rue is so stuck in their own guilt about pretending to be someone else (a task she had basically no say in pursuing bc that was the purpose he was created for) that it literally named himself after a form of regret and is going around basically begging the server's forgiveness
avid's unwillingness to address his issues is not only worsening by the day but its also putting rue in a hole so deep that marm had to remind them that she and ruby can both coexist.
it's official avid ruined my ability to say words with the prefix under-
