I think those ASB pictures with the real world backdrop, as awesome as they are, would have worked better with locations more relevant to each part instead of being just all around Japan. Like how FGO did a similar thing for their 5th anniversary, by putting Servants in real world backdrops based on their lore/country of origin! What do you think?
I get what you're saying. If it helps, their locations were picked for character-specific reasons. Haven't had time to translate most of it yet but basically there's a total of 47 prefectures in Japan and 50 ASBR characters so I guess they thought there was some good synergy there.
The cool part is there's a contest where you can win (what I'm assuming is) a physical set of all 47 postcards by tweeting your favorite image from the campaing with the hashtag #JOJO_ASBR_47都道府県に登場 (pretty sure it's only open to people with a Japanese mailing address).
As part of the campaign, there’s an interactive site where you can explore a map of the country, zoom in on a region and prefecture, and see who’s hanging out there:
Like here’s Kars in Kagoshima. Caption read,s “A place where you can feel the heartbeat of the Earth... the Ultimate Lifeform will seize control of the Earth from here!!”:
(fwiw Kagoshima’s home to a number of volcanos.)
