They don’t seem to have an actual system based off your purchases. It’s likely just randomly generated or current/general popular purchases.
I’m aware of that, which is why I suggested that Voltage actually put work into it instead of just adding it in as a “Feature” and then calling it a day.
And I don’t mean it in that the app should recognize your purchases and make recommendations based off of that. I mean making recommendations based off the stories themselves, which is why I made that small list. It would be easier than doing it off of purchases.
Making it out of your purchases won’t be much helpful if you’re buying from all titles, but recommending stories with similar plots/themes to the one you just played will give you an idea of what stories you might want to play or avoid (depending on whether or not you liked the story you just played).
Otherwise, it’s just a standard ad. If I wanted to see what stories were popular, I could just take a look at the Homepage.
If you happen to have wifi during the event duration you can still participate. Last community event, there were a lot of pikachu that spawned everywhere for the whole 3 hours. You don't have to go to parks. And there is always incense if you haven't used your free ones yet. Of course it may be different this time around since it's dratini but you never know.
Thing is, I’m always either working, sleeping, or resting. I don’t have the time to go around looking for Pokemon in a game I forget I even have anymore. I also can’t keep the app open because my phone’s battery is already used so much that even a few minutes of use will drain it. I only ever open it when I remember, look around, and then close it and forget again. My workplace isn’t very “workers using their phones”-friendly, either. Considering I work an hour away from home, that’s not ideal…. I can’t even have it open while I drive anymore even if it’s just to hatch eggs....
