Aseksualiteit wordt gedefinieerd als ‘het niet of amper ervaren van seksuele aantrekking naar andere personen’. Aseksualiteit is een spectrum. Sommige mensen ervaren helemaal geen seksuele aantrekking, en andere bijvoorbeeld zelden. Dit wordt ook wel grijsseksueel genoemd - denk aan een grijs gedeelte op het spectrum tussen seksueel en aseksueel. Aseksueel zijn is niet hetzelfde als geen libido hebben of geen seks willen. Dit verschilt erg per persoon. Sommige aseksuele mensen houden niet van seks, sommige hebben er geen behoefte aan, en sommige vinden seks leuk.

On this ocassion, given that IAD falls within Autism Awareness Week, we are not only highlighting the work of ace activists in different countries but we'll be also discovering a bit about the experiences of autistic aces in different parts of the world.

Speciaal voor Ace Week organiseren we (AceBase Zwolle, AeROspACE, EmbrAce, NOA, spACE en T.A.A.R.T.) een landelijke bijeenkomst in Utrecht met verschillende activiteiten zoals oa platonisch speeddaten, bordspelletjes, en er komen Nederlandse auteurs die over aseksualiteit hebben geschreven!

Ace fest is van 13:00 tot 21:00 in Buurthuis in de 3 Krone (Oudegracht 227, Utrecht), ongeveer 15 min lopen van Utrecht Centraal of 5 minuten lopen van een bushalte. Op één ruimte na is de locatie rolstoeltoegankelijk. Met het plannen proberen we hiermee rekening te houden. Mocht je met een begeleider/tolk komen, laat het ons dan van tevoren weten via de mail (AceFestNL[at] gmail.com). Deze persoon hoeft zich niet aan te melden. Heb je vragen of suggesties over toegankelijkheid, mail ons dan gerust.

Specially for Ace Week, we (AceBase Zwolle, AeROspACE, EmbrAce, NOA, spACE and T.A.A.R.T.) will organise the first Ace Fest on Oct. 25, 2025! This national meet-up will be held in Buurthuis in de 3 Krone (Oudegracht 227, Utrecht) from 13:00 till 21:00.
Until Oct. 11, you can sign up through this link (max 35 people).
The venue is a 15-min walk from Utrecht Centraal or 5 min from bus stop Domplein (bus 2).
The location is, for all but one room, wheelchair accessible. We try to keep this in mind during the planning. If you want to bring a personal coach/translator, let us know beforehand via our mail (AceFestNL[at]gmail.com). This person doesn’t have to register for the event. If you have any questions or suggestions about accessibility, let us know.

Jawel, het is gewoon Nederlandse scifi! En met een ace personage 😊
Ik hou van scifi, ben al ongeveer op blz 200. Ik hou van lezen over andere werelden/culturen/steden in de toekomst. Kan het zeker aanraden als het je leuk lijkt om een verhaal te lezen wat plaats vindt op Mars. Een nieuwe wereld - de oude lijkt in dit verhaal redelijk fucked. Maar helemaal perfect is deze nieuwe ook niet. Eenmaal aangekomen op Mars blijken er Martianen te zijn, en de relaties tussen mensen en Martianen is niet goed.
De hoofdpersoon komt perongeluk achter wat dingen en gaat dan samen met klasgenoten en haar buurjongen op onderzoek uit.
De volgende EmbrAce meetup in Arnhem is zaterdag 6 september, van 14:00 tot 17:00 in Café Bosch. Sluit gezellig aan voor een drankje (thee/koffie/fris/bier/etc) en ontmoet andere a-spec mensen!
