I just don't get people that say they hate reading (with a passion!!). Like... how can you hate reading, brah?? I don't understand it at ALL!

Ack, also people that manage to make their reading into something that is decided and graded by their peers.

Why only read what the internet/your friends tells you to? I mean, of course they're good, or they wouldn't have become cult reads, but so many people only read them because they are cult reads. And there's only so many of those...

(This goes for books that suddenly reach popularity because they've been made into movies... and then people start freaking out and reading the book and it generally becomes a clusterfuck, amirite?)

Then there's people that read classics to seem intellectual... but they're not really that much more intelligent than people that only read fanfic of their favorite tv shows (and that's a whole different breed, ugh.)

If you like reading, go to the library and wander the shelves until you find something that peaks your interest, not because you've heard of its title before, or because someone told you it was a good book. Pick it up and read it because it speaks to you. It's just so much more fun.
