‘what keeps you up at night?’ for courf (asgxntle)

“I dunno, the general crappy state of the world right now? Global warming?” Courfeyrac mumbles a bit sarcastically, currently sprawled our on the couch with his feet resting on Combeferre’s lap. Usually he doesn’t have a lot of problems sleeping, and if anything sleeps far too much, but lately it’s been far more restless and it only took Combeferre one look to notice. Which, really, he shouldn’t be surprised, somehow he always figured things out so easily. “But more specifically....I dunno. I’ve just been thinking about things too much, you know me.”

Jehan was so exhausted. So incredibly exhausted. He’d spent too many nights awake, having snuck out of the shared flat to wander aimlessly and write poetry about the night. But he also hadn’t told anyone because he had promised not to do that anymore. The exhaustion was so bad that the poet was honestly considering drinking some of Combeferre’s coffee, as disgusting as it was to him. He looked for Bahorel or Combeferre, either one would do and both would be wonderful, finding them both on the couch. That was nice and did make sense, considering the fact that it was early evening.

With a failed attempt at stifling a loud yawn, Jehan wandered over to them and carefully lay down, managing to drape himself across both of their laps. “Hello,” he whispered, fighting to keep his eyes open and smiling up at the ceiling. “You’re amazing, both of you. So much more comfortable than any pillow or mattress or tree branch that I’ve ever slept on. Ever. More loving too.”

Enjolras was curled up on his couch, a book in his hand, trying to study for his final. He’d hardly left the house in days, and he knew that probably wasn’t healthy, and he’d neglected several things, including his relationship. He decided to remedy that.

He set down his book, and walked into the bedroom where Courfeyrac and Combeferre were. “Do you two want to do something today?” he asked, hoping they were in need of time together as much as he was.

“You say that like it’s just watching a new movie or something.” Courfeyrac replied with a laugh, although the slightest flush had spread over his cheeks as he tried very hard to focus on his phone, hoping his flush wouldn’t be too evident in the glow of it. “You saying the drunk kiss from new years like three years ago doesn’t count?”
