listen. the thing is i’m usually somewhat of a sceptic. imo sometimes the curtains are blue just because they’re blue. may I offer : probie buck is obviously flirty and a teasing little brat because he is fully aware that it's at least partially working on eddie, and eddie lets him, half-heartedly reprimanding him about his professionalism. sometimes the flirting is so shameless it makes him laugh and shake his head more than it turns him on

but at one point buck actually drops the act. maybe it's a difficult shift maybe it was a close call or an actual bad call and buck feels lost and aimless, so for once when he steps into eddie's office, it's not with a cocky smile but with an unsettled frown, and when eddie lays a hand on his shoulder to comfort him he feels the slight dip in buck's posture, like he was going to drop to his knees if eddie has pressed just a little harder. and the way he says "cap" isn't goading but deferential, vulnerable, and that's the tone eddie thinks about when he pathetically jerks off in the shower that night 👍
