Hey all, I just wanted to let all my followers know I'm supremely grateful for your attention and I'm honestly honored that you want to see more from me. I'm still alive and well and writing, just a bit busier than I'd like. I honor any requests I get that fit within the rules, and they really do help my creativity come along even if it takes a while to write them. Anyway, I've got a late mermay fic in the pipes, and a whole lot of other stories I'm super excited to share with you all. So, to conclude, don't be shy to hit up my ask box for requests or just random questions or things to chat about. Thanks again for following, and I hope you enjoy what I have coming!
Hey all, I’ll be moving most of my activity to @ashwritesmonsters soon. This blog is a sideblog, so I’ll switch to using it mostly as a library or archive of my stories, while everything else will be on @ashwritesmonsters. Go give the new one a follow so you don’t wonder where I’ve gone!
✾ JJK centric, not spoiler free, nsfw. MDNI, my works are intended for 18+ audiences.

I'm very pleased to say I'm ringing in the new year by sipping wine and hunting down grammar mistakes. As much as I love writing, it, unfortunately, got sidelined by my work and general matters of life. I'm regaining more control over my leisure time and I'll be moving on to the requests that have been gathering dust in my inbox. I haven't forgotten about you!
As I mentioned a while ago, this last chapter has taken long for a variety of reasons, and I felt like it would be good to put my thoughts out there. So, if what's going on in my head as I work through my process interests you, read on!
So it's no secret that a big driving force of the conflict in The Orchardkeeper is an urban fantasy version of xenophobia. Admittedly, it wasn't incredibly subtle, but I figured it would take a backseat to the internal, angsty, "what are we" style relationship-based conflict. That was the plan.
What ended up happening in my first draft, which I wrote incredibly quickly, was that the xenophobia took over the whole story. I finished the rough draft and realized I had an urban fantasy treatise on racism, which I feel was high quality, but definitely not a romance story anymore. It was good for me to write, but not what you all wanted to read. Trust me on that one.
They say to write what you know, and that essentially happened too much. Without telling you my whole life story, I'm an immigrant who started out in a rural area of a large country. A lot of the stuff that happens to Goran in the story is similar to stuff that happened to me, my family, or other immigrants who immigrated in the same "wave."
I also got promoted at work, which is great, but that's the primary reason for having less time to write. I don't work that much more now, but I went from working at night to working early mornings. So I guess the hiatus I took is how long it takes for me to go from being nocturnal to... normal. Anyway, if you've read all this, thanks for taking interest in the life of a humble amateur writer. I'm always trying to improve and I really do care about writing stories that satisfy us monsterf*ckers but also leave positive impressions and send healthy messages.
Hey everyone, I know it’s been a while since I’ve so much as reblogged anything, and that stinks. Despite life getting in the way in a royally crappy fashion and needing to scrap and rewrite the remainder of The Orchardkeeper, I’m optimistic I’ll be posting much more regularly soon. For those that are interested in the process, I’ll post about why I had to scrap so much writing on edit day, the day before the next part gets posted. And if you submitted a request, I will get to it soon! It might take me a while but I promise to honor any valid request in the order it arrived.
As always, thanks for reading!! I’ve had a lot of bad days lately but knowing there’s a few people out there enjoying my work never fails to cheer me up. You’re all absolutely lovely.
