what a boring crowd. every event the cabaret singer attends is nothing short of unimpressive , forever using the same decor & motifs , same dances & same incredibly dull patrons. if not for her aunt's insistence , lucille would have dared to consider the possibility of skipping tonight's big ballroom event. it would have been socially unacceptable to not be in attendance tonight without a proper excuse , but if lucille could choose what she'd like to do , she would easily spent her evening at home , happy to enjoy a bit of peace & lose herself in a good book instead. of course , that is no longer her option thanks to her newfound singing career , as well as the many suitors who constantly darken her path every chance they get. such is the same as she manages to escape a rather persistent gentleman from the dining hall , eyes darting around to find a suitable location to hide but somehow finding a person ━━ a goblin , actually , instead.
❝ don't move. ❞ lucille's command comes hushed & without explanation , already trotting behind the tall captain as she hovers close , eyes peaking over to watch the suitor who now enters the ballroom , confused when he does not find her. it doesn't take long before the gentleman finally gives up & leaves to go elsewhere , allowing lucille a chance to breathe a sigh of relief knowing she'll finally have a bit of respite from that man's company. ❝ phew ! i thought i'd never lose him. ❞ relief turns to brief laughter , now looking up at her savior , completely elated. ❝ i'm sorry to drag you into all this , but i needed a bit of help. you saved me , sir. i hope i didn't disrupt your evening too much with my drama. ❞
