I think this is the right video! And that was a fun performance--she knows how to work the stage. The song itself is a bit of a miss for me.

It’s a missing a little something to make me fall in love with it, but I rather like it.

The verses leave me cold, but the chorus and the bridge are better.

Maybe you can help me out, because I'm a little confused as to why Gong Yoo became a goblin in the first place. Maybe I didn't understand it right, but he became a goblin because he had the blood of all the people he killed on his hands. But if that's right, the entire army, and the people they were fighting would be goblins too wouldn't they?

It kinda feels like there might be one. If Kim Shin leaves in order for Wang Yeo to leave Eun Tak alone, maybe that’s where the skip will happen.

I know there has to be one because we haven’t reached 2016 yet but I want it to happen already because I’m a little horrified at what is supposed to be cute in this ep.

I’ve only seen bits and pieces of it since I haven’t started it yet, but I love Jun Ji Hyun’s character already.

Yeah, she’s incredible. While this isn’t my fave writer, I’m genuinely curious to see how the Joseon mermaid and the modern mermaid are connected. I have vague hopes that it’s more than just what’shisprettyface stupid-love-story but hey how often do we get to continue the “modern reincarnation” aspect of a drama -- that’s usually saved for the last few minutes of a sageuk finale.

5th Harmony - Work from Home, Jonghyun - She Is, Jung Jin Woon - Will, BTS - Save Me.

Sounds good to me!

I think the song itself is a little bland (though I do like those higher synth notes), but the MV + lyrics crack me up. It lands squarely into flirty/coy territory, which is fun. With all the phallic imagery, you probably shouldn’t watch it at work. Plenty of eye candy between the ladies and the construction workers (particularly if arms are your thing).

Between the weird, near-constant warping sound in the background and the hideous color palette, this is definitely--

I think I would’ve liked it more if they hadn’t done the tinny-radio-sound-effect thing to his voice in the first half of the song. It just made him sound like his mouth was stuffed full with metallic cotton balls.

There’s something missing here that keeps me from loving it; I wish I knew what it was. It’s not bad, it’s just not great, and I wish it were.

What are some of your favorite dramas involving ghost, vampires, other mythical beings, magic or anything magical?

I wish this one wasn’t so hard! (And by hard, I mean that I had more options. :/) My favorite would definitely be Arang and the Magistrate, but I also really liked My Girlfriend is a Gumiho, which is also the only Hong Sisters drama I’ll recommend to people.

(Sorry, I was one of those folks who was just not awed by Master’s Sun. >.>; I know that’d probably be on the top of others’ rec lists, but it lands squarely in my “Check it out on a slow day” drama category. That’s where W: Two Worlds is going to land for me, sadly, once I finally get around to writing a final verdict on it.)

If you want to include time travel under magic/anything magical, then I’d say Queen In-hyun’s Man or Nine: Nine Times Time Travel, and if you want to stretch for psychic abilities, then I Hear Your Voice. But otherwise, I don’t have very many good recs, either because I dropped shows that would qualify (The Scholar Who Walks the Night, Vampire Detective, etc.) or I hated them (YWCFTS, Soul, Who Are You?).

There don’t seem to be many fantasy offerings for kdramas, which bums me out a little. I love reading SFF, but it doesn’t seem to be very popular for kdramas. Or rather, the traditional liveshoot system doesn’t often allow for the kind of post-production work that would be necessary.

Followers, do you have any recommendations? It is Halloween, after all…

I usually finish dramas because I want to know what happens, even if I'm frustrated or annoyed with the story. But this has been my year of dropping dramas. I've dropped 18 since I started watching dramas, and 8 of those were this year alone. From not liking the pace, the story, and the characters, I'm amazing that I've dropped this much.

Yeah, when I first started watching, only the extremes would make me frustrated enough to drop a show. The rate at which I drop has been accelerating, though. I went over a year at one point without finishing a currently airing drama, that’s how quick I am to axe something.

I hope you find some dramas you love between now and the end of the year!
