I think the many unique traditions, practices, and observances (and even unique holidays in some cases) of non-Ashkenazi Jewish communities, especially ones that came out of Jewish communities of colour, should be taught because they are equally Jewish and are essential to what makes the Jewish people such a beautiful and diverse community that should be celebrated, instead of only educating people about these things as a preface for how the dominant form of Judaism can benefit directly from these groups by cherry-picking "lessons" from vague philosophical conclusions, which often never account for the way that group's unique history shaped the development of their own unique Jewish identity.
