💀 for what my muse would say upon hearing about your muse’s death. (ysabel x hayden)
Ysabel felt her knees weaken, her eyes filling with tears as the words reached her ears. She waited for Hayden’s parents to laugh, telling her they played a cruel joke on her. But they stood still, watching her fall to the ground. She didn’t even realize when the sounds left her vocal chords, though she knew was she was unable to stop them. She was sobbing. For the first time of her life, she was crying all the tears her body was able to provide. Even when her abusive father unleashed his anger on her, she refused to cry in front of him. She refused to let her heart express its feelings through tears. The worst thing was, Ysabel didn’t expect it. She had left her house thinking she was going to spend time with her girlfriend, when she was greeted with her parents’ dark expressions. Hayden is gone. The words replayed in her mind as a broken record. The source of her happiness was dead. She continued to sob on the carpet when she felt a hand touch her back. “Don’t!” she jumped, moving away from the woman who gave birth to her angel. “You don’t get to do that. It’s your fault,” she yelled, gesturing towards the both of them. “You don’t get to suffer. You treated her like shit while she was alive, so don’t pretend you will miss her now that she’s dead,” she added. Anger and grief obscured her vision, destroying the walls she built to hide her emotions. “You don’t even know her, and you never will. She was the best person I’ve ever met. Her heart was the most innocent and the kindest I’ve ever seen in someone — there will never be someone else who will be as compassionate as she was.” She took a deep breath, panic clenching her heart. What was she going to do now? She lost the person dearest to her heart. She was prepared to some of most difficult trials life put her through, but not the death of the one person who valued her. “She was the love of my life, and she didn’t deserve to have parents like you. You destroyed her piece by piece and now you act like you loved her. It’s too late,” she spoke. She left the residence, walking through the streets mindlessly. Recognizing her bus stop, Ysabel ceased moving. She let herself fall on the cold pavement, unable to see past the place that lead her to the meeting of Hayden. She stood there, the memories coming back in flashes. The encounter, the first kiss, the first ‘I love you’. Tears rolled down her cheeks as she stared at the waiting seats. She lost her love, but she still kept all the things Hayden offered her. The kindness, the hope, the proof she was capable of loving someone. Ysabel was going to survive. Hayden made sure of it when she reciprocated her love.
