My issue with writing x Reader
I often try to put myself in a situation in which i have to write a romance between a Mortal Kombat character and the reader and I just don't know how to handle it because wouldn't you know it. I write Y/N in a very specific manner, and i make her mostly unlikeable. Like, she makes bad choices, she's an asshole, she's committing villainy, she's just detestable. And I don't publish it because I feel like, someone who is reading the fanfic might strugglr to relate to the Y/N archetypes because my Y/N's are not nice at all
Im only saying that because in private im writing a Fengjian Kung Lao x F!Reader in which reader is a rich heiress daughter of the owner of the cabagge fields, and she's like. not great. and i bring Kung Lao through this whole arc about realizing how growing up with different income ranges and different socialization might affect you and the cost of daring to speak for your rights as a worker on a place were everything is set against you and then i realized like
oh shit, once again i've managed to make, the mortal kombat character and the reader not end up together
and yet again, i've started writing about a social issue instead of a love story
so
do you usually read x reader fanfics and put urselves on the shoes of the character? i personally use them as little rag dolls to play with
