A/N: Hi, I hope you like it! Have a good day/night too ♥ ---
"Babe, I am home!" you yelled into a dark and apparently empty house. The background noise was dull, your voice mixed with the door that slammed into the lock and the distant television that seemed to be playing in the living room.
Your black boots flew skillfully and neatly into the corner of the shoe rack and almost at the same time, you threw your keys into the provided bowl before you hung up your coat and silently walked to the living room.
You had thought that the redhead fell asleep on the couch while waiting for you, like she always did instead of simply going to bed but she was staring wide awake at the TV, apparently lost in thought - her gaze was rigid and you didn't see her blinking. She didn't seem to noticed you either.
You paused at the door frame and leaned against it, smiling for a brief moment. "Ash?"
She broke away from the stare, her gaze wandering searching yours as her sky blue eyes met yours, but the smile that she usually wore on her red tainted lips as soon as you were around was nowhere to be found. Instead, a cold look met you that let a shiver run down your spine.
A little confused by her withdrawn gesture, you raised an eyebrow sharply and pushed yourself out of your position to let yourself fall next to her on the couch. "Everything okay?"
"Where have you been?"
"Pam needed help with baking for the buffet for the school ball tomorrow." you answered with a sigh as you noticed how your body pressed into the material and the tiredness of your body and your soul took over. "So I offered myself."
One of your hands took the place on her shoulders and gently stroked it from side to side. Her head fell back for a short time, her cheek gently touching the back of your hand while she enjoyed the warmth and affection you gave her before she stood up without hesitation.
"You've been hanging out with Pam and the others a lot lately."
"They are my friends, Ashley. And if they need help, I will help them." you replied and already feared where this conversation would lead - to an argument. "That's what friends are for!" you rolled with your eyes while you stood up from your seat, walking into the kitchen to get yourself a cold drink from the fridge.
Her hands clawed into the dark wood of the table on which she leaned before she jerked herself around and looked at you intently. Involuntarily she bit the inside of her lip and crossed her arms as she watched your tensed body move.
"I don't know why you acting like that." you snapped into her direction and banged the bottle on the marble counter. Your eyes glittered in the light of the still open refrigerator and the cold that came out of it gave you goosebumps all over your body. "Are you afraid that I will leave you? I only love YOU and no other! You will always be the only one for me. Why don't you understand?"
You screamed at her, unintentionally and it got quiet in the house. You just looked at each other without a single word to break the silence. The redhead knew you were right about what you said and she didn't understood why she reacted like that - you hadn't done anything wrong.
You were the first to break free of your rigidity and made your way upstairs. You had barely walked two steps up when a firm grip on your wrist stopped you and tossed you around. You couldn't even react that quickly as her lips were on yours; a gentle kiss bathed in warmth and love.
"I am sorry." she whispered as she pulled away from you and rested her forehead against yours. Her thin and cold fingers scuttled around your hips, pulling you closer to her as she, again, planted her lips on yours. "I just miss you and the alone time with you."
You shook your head and started to smile, which also put one on her face before you laid your head on her chest and her arms wrapped protectively around your upper back and pressed you tightly in her body.
The sudden warmth you felt and the strong pounding of her heart in her chest made you close your eyes and bury your hands in front of you, completely disappearing inside of her embrace. You stood there for quite some time, with her chin resting on your head, before you broke away from her and she escorted you back to the couch.
Together you laid down on the narrow couch and you snuggled into her while she tried in vain to follow the currently playing film, but couldn't make it as her gaze and her thoughts kept wandering to your sleeping figure in her arms.
How luck she was to have you.
