it’s her, the blue fire lizard 🦎
suuuuper intense and emotional session for Ashscale tonight
nearly her whole body is now covered in burn-like scars from nearly drowning/dying in an ice-cold lake and, well, being a fire lizard vulnerable to the cold...
oh, and she met the avatar of her god
and felt unworthy of being in his presence
and tried to give the gauntlet given to her by her god back to the avatar
my baaaabyyyy ;w;
pls enjoy this doodle of Ashscale drawn on a note card I spent waaay too much time on
my newest character Ashscale is a bladesmith all the info I’ve learned on forged in fire is gonna come in handy hahaha
she was just about to quench a new blade she was making when she was suddenly pulled through a magical portal by a wizard (one of the other PCs) to the surface world and now she’s like “wtf dude!! get me back home!!”
Tonight is the final session of Portal Pressure!!!
Well, as long as things go according to the DM’s plan 🤣
Kinda surreal that something that started out as a little dungeon world game to celebrate my birthday would become an almost 3 year long campaign!
I’m very excited (and a bit nervous) for what will happen to Ashscale and the rest of her party during the final session. Also pretty excited that a player who hasn’t been able to play for quite awhile will be able to be there in the final session!!!
Will probably write up another post sometime after the campaign finishes, or maybe some liveblogging too!
we’ve recently acquired another player in the Portal Pressure campaign and now the party finally has someone that isn’t a full caster: a dragonborn paladin of the god of death!
the paladin and Ashscale have been bonding over their shared experience of dying and coming back to life lol
in today’s session Ashscale and her party narrowly avoided a battle with a beholder that would’ve very likely resulted in at least a couple PCs dying, if not a flat out TPK.
I think I’ve mentioned before that this party is made up of all casters, minus our NPC rogue. sooo yeah, a beholder fight would’ve been a real nasty one for us!!
but our cleric saved us all, it was awesome! the cleric went first in the initiative order and during her turn she ran out of the beholder’s anti-magic cone and cast Banishment on the beholder. we were lucky that the beholder utterly failed its saving throw and got banished.
with the time the spell gave us we all quickly got into a circle and held hands in preparation for when the cleric’s turn came up again. when it did we teleported to safety using her amulet of the planes.
the GM was very impressed we got out of there lol. he had plans in mind if some and/or all of us did die. but hey, because of what we did we have a very angry beholder after us now... :’D
it’s a very good thing Ashscale had Advantage on this roll because this CON save was a succeed or die
and in the previous session Ashscale rolled a Nat 20 on a CON save against an undead dragon’s breath weapon that, had she failed the save, would’ve resulted in her taking well over 100 points in cold damage because she’s vulnerable to the cold :′))
