What are your Shadowsight headcanons? Any thoughts on AshShadow or RootShadow?

ShadowRoot is everything. Bisexual Rootspring has two forepaws. I love the TBC trio as a little poly bundle with the two toms having a really cute and soft relationship after Bristlefrost's death.

AshShadow is a prototypical Ashfur ship. Just an incel manipulating a emotionally vulnerable younger cat. It's like AshLion except instead of his mentor he's a ghost in his head.

Hello i love your work!!! Can you write anything about shadowsight x Ashur?

Corruption, manipulation, gaslighting, and toxicity.

The actual canon of TBC teased at the idea a bit of Ashfur trying to bring Shadowsight down to his level by convincing him that he's also an outcast and the rest of the clans won't ever look at him the same way again, etc etc. I think you could really pull on that thread to give AshShadow some depth.

Imagine Ashfur convincing Shadowsight to pursue some forbidden romance (after convincing him he had some feelings in the first place), and then does everything he can to make Shadowsight absolutely terrible in it, so it falls apart. He manipulates Shadowsight into pushing more and more cats away so that he grows isolated, and is easy prey for a handsome and confident "Bramblestar" to pick him up. Showing Shadowsight some affection, intimacy, and "love" get him to fall hard, and now Ashfur has both useful tool and fun new toy at his disposal.

Bad endings are sort of obvious, good ending you'd need the important cats in Shadowsight's life to ultimately break through to him by (actually) loving him despite the behavior he was tricked into. Dovewing/Tigerstar/Puddleshine found family moment maybe. Or Rootspring taking him on an actually nice date so he can see what real affection is like.

What's ONE THING you've found really attractive about the other hedgehog that made you go 'hang on, do I like them or not'?

[Shadow quickly starts folding the letter back up and stuffs it into its envelope.]

Amy: Wait, what is it?

[Shadow shakes their head.]

[Amy snatches the letter.]

Amy: "What's one thing you find really attractive about...-" Oh, that's easy!

Shadow: (・・ ) ?

Amy: Well, I gravitate towards a certain set of personal traits.

[Amy starts counting off on her fingers.]

Amy: I like someone who is playful, but can be serious. I like someone who has a good sense of humor, who isn't afraid of some healthy competition or a good rough house. I like someone who can share their time, energy, and effort with me as we work towards our seperate or conjoined goals. Above all else though, I like someone who is honest and fair, with a strong moral compass, who will be there for me and our future together.

Shadow: (•ิ_•ิ)

Amy: But physical trait? Hm... Hope this doesn't come off as shallow, but I love a good set of quills on a hedgehog. The fuller and bouncer, the better!

Amy: What about you, Shadow? Anything in particular you look for in another hedgehog?

[Shadow runs a hand over their quills. They can no longer maintain eye contact.]

Amy: Well, what makes you gravitate towards certain people romantically?

Amy: Aw, Shadow!

Amy: Listen, some people don't feel attraction easily, or at all. Sorry if I was pushing you a bit. I just- well I - some days I think I'm just an dummy who could love anyone!

Shadow: You are *not*.

Amy: Weeeeell, I dunno. In- in this I might be. I *could* love anyone romantically, m-maybe. On paper at least it feels that way. But I just-... I dunno. I feel like I get in my own way sometimes. That whole 'idiot in love' trope. I feel like that fits me to a T some days.

[Amy waves a hand.]

Amy: But enough about me! Shadow the hedgehog had a crush?(¬‿¬)
