Tonight, you and Domestic!Ashton were having a dinner party at your house, celebrating the boys being back from tour. You heard the alarm clock go off next to you, and considering it was still dark out you figured Ashton was leaving for the studio. “What time is it? Do you have work today?” you mumbled as you felt your husband sit up and bring his legs to the edge of the bed. “5:47 AM. Not today, I just wanted to make the food for the party tonight since you always do it. Now go back to sleep, I’ll do everything.” He said kissing you on the forehead and pushing himself off the bed. “Are you sure? That’s a lot of food considering everyones coming.” you said, eyes still closed half asleep. “It won’t be that bad, I have the kids to help me, and I spent the week prepping, so enjoy your day off.” he said heading off towards the bathroom. Since Ashton wanted to make everything himself, you sure weren’t going to stop him. Earlier in the week when he decided that he was going to make everything, you were worried. To say he was ambitious, would be an understatement. He had big plans: two different appetizers, a three course meal, and various dessert choices to finish off the night. ~~~~~ When you woke up at 10:30 you were excited to see what Ashton had gotten done in the 4 and a half hours you were sleeping. The moment you walked into the kitchen you smelled something rather questionable. “I burnt a steak” he said not turning around and continuing to mix some sort of batter next to the sink. “Is everything okay?” You asked peering at the, burnt-to-a-crisp, steak on the counter. “Yeah, I forgot about it when I was making the dip and I left it on the stove too long but I had extra so that ones cooking now.” He said pointing towards it. “Want any help?” You offered, standing next to the pile of uncut vegetables. “No. I have my sous chef” he stated before adding “Well, yeah, can you cut those into cubes for me? I don’t know where Avery went.” he looked at you with his eyebrows furrowed. “Sure” you replied as he gave you a small smile. When you were finished, he thanked you and kindly told you that he no longer needed your help, as Avery, his sous chef, had reappeared and you could go do whatever you wanted. Hours later, Ashton finally finished and came into the living room to join you on the couch. The food was all prepared and on platters in your kitchen just waiting to be served. “I am exhausted. I don’t know how you can do this every single day.” he sighed molding himself into you and the couch to get comfortable. “I don’t usually cook a meal that a restaurant would have trouble serving. Thank you for cooking though. I’m sure it’ll be delicious.” ~~~~~ 15 minutes later the doorbell rang and Ashton crumpled into a ball, too tired to host a dinner party. Only when you heard Michael yell, “OPEN UP IRWIN RESIDENCE!” did Ashton groan in exhaustion before getting up and inviting his friends into your house.
