Women in Mahabharata - Ashvasena's Mother
She is the wife of Takshaka. She lived in the Khandava forest with her husband and son.
When Krishna and Arjuna, upon the advice of Agni, burn down the area, her husband is out of the house. She tries to escape with her young son Ashvasena, but is intercepted and decapitated by Arjuna.
Indra, angered by this, strikes Arjuna unconscious. Ashvasena, on his mother's request, takes this time to run away and save himself.
Her son later attempts to collude with Karna and avenge his mother by helping the latter kill Arjuna. However, due to Krishna's prompt action, he is unsuccessful and is killed by Arjuna in the chaos.
