ok ok genuine question what did you like abt x? i loooove jenna ortega and mia goth and i thought it was cool and original but i thought it was kinda lame how most of the "horror" aspect was old peoples bodies. what do think?
honestly i didnt really. okay i didnt think that the horror was from that like aside from the comments about the guy being ugly it wasnt really the source of horror to me? i mean the horror was amped up by the age difference for sure but i didnt really feel like it was relying on ageist horror in that way? like. its horrifying because a stranger is in your bed touching you while you sleep, not just because its an old woman. its horrifying because evangelicals are taking their own violent action against “sex fiends”, they just also happen to be old. maybe they were trying to like, horror/gross out with some shots but i dont know, i didnt really see it that way? its a little hard to make a movie about sex and desire and aging (among other things) without showing old people’s bodies in conjunction with horrifying acts but to me it didnt feel like the physicality of the bodies WAS the horror. they were straight up killing people and were very strange and offputting even before that it wasnt like they were only scary in passivity due to their bodies being visibly aged. but it IS a good thing to consider!! hiiii richie btw :]
