here i am answering every single gotdamn question in that thing @mainly-dumbassery​ tagged me in because i will infodump at every opportunity about Sixpence and i love him

What position does your character sleep in? ( i.e; stomach, side, back, etc. ) Describe why they do this — optional. - Side. It’s easier to get up quickly, and it’s most comfortable since he’s mostly sleeping on the ground  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Does your character have any noteworthy features? Freckles? Dimples? A scar somewhere unusual? etc. - i mean like... he’s always forgetting to shave and just kind of hacks off hair whenever it gets irritating or in the way so he kind of looks like a mangy bigfoot most of the time. also he has scars Fucking Everywhere because that’s what happens in apocalyptic fiction u feel me

Does your character have an accent? What does it sound like? - nah. he doesn’t talk much, and when he does it’s pretty monotone. other than that it’s just kinda standard american accent i guess.

Do they have any verbal tics? Do they have trouble pronouncing certain words or getting their thoughts across clearly? - oh fuck yeah. He’s dealt with clinical psychosis since he was a child so he copes with the accompanying disorganized thinking by just. not really talking much. But it helps that the only people he has around to talk to are Rye and Blackbird and Rye’s been around him so long they really don’t need to talk at all, and when they do she can get the gist of whatever he’s trying to say even if the words or concepts wouldn’t really make sense to anyone else.

What are their chief tension areas? - He’s decently sensitive about his psychosis, he doesn’t like to talk about family, and he would rather be abandoned by his kids than be captured with them because he’s done the imprisonment thing and it is Not For Him. also like let him know before u touch him.

If you were to pick one song — and only one song — to describe your character, what would it be and why? - “Safe Travels” by Peter and the Wolf mostly because the entire second verse just? fits? so perfectly? his entire arc? just fuck me up i love him

How does your character perceive themselves? Positive? Negative? Neutral? - he’s pretty much come to terms with himself but he still gets exasperated with his fucky brain sometimes. like he’s totally aware of all his great traits but way MORE aware of all his bad ones but tbh aren’t we all

Are they a quick thinker or do they need time to sort through their thoughts? - both? Like i mean if there’s a bear coming at them he’ll kick its ass with no problem but u ask what he wants for dinner and he’ll take like two hours to think, come up with nothing, and need to lie down to unfrazzle himself over it

Does your character dream or are their nights filled with an empty blackness? Describe a dream they’ve had or a night they couldn’t sleep and what they did to preoccupy their time. - he doesn’t have dreams he can remember the next morning but i guess the most recent one he dreamt he and the kids and the horse were all in a pasture back in pre-apocalyptic Florida

If they had a choice, would they prefer a subway or a bus for public transportation? - Bus, probably. subways r super cramped and would give him claustrophobia.

What do they think of creation? Do they believe in evolution or do they believe in God? What is their religion like? - he has a somewhat spiteful view of God, but he’s been known to pray on occasion since he never really got exposed to any other religions when he was young and then the world kind of ended so yea

Describe 5 unusual characteristics your muse has. - he can carve, he doesn’t like music, he was a ward of the state as a kid after both his parents signed over their legal rights, he doesn’t read if he doesn’t have to, and he contracts lung cancer after burning salvaged junk to stay warm for fifteen years :D

Have they ever been so overwhelmed they had to stop and take a break from something? - like at least twice a day

Are they a team player or do they prefer to be solo? - if u asked him he’d say he likes to work solo but honestly if he hears Rye or Blackbird mention they’re going out to salvage he just appears like “hi i’m ready too let’s go”

Can they multi-task or must they focus on one subject at a time? - one thing at a time with full attention

What are their best school subjects? What are their worst? List five of each. - best: history, gym (is that even a real class? i was homeschooled i have no idea if that’s just something movies made up), mathematics, what other classes do people even TAKE. Worst: english, music, whatever the other classes are.

How do they handle big crowds of people? - i mean he’s met a grand total of 2 other people in the last ten years so there’s not really much chance for big crowds anymore but before the world went to shit he hated them, they’re loud and overstimulating.

Are they a leader, do they prefer to follow, or would they rather just stay on the sidelines altogether? - he’d like to stay out of things in general but he kind of became this accidental adult and now these young humans are here and just sort of put him in authority and he has no idea how to handle it but he is a Good Dad

If your character was suddenly challenged, would they rather run away or stay and fight? - i mean he’s highly protective and once killed a literal lion with a knife and fights packs of wild dogs for fun so idk why you’d challenge him but you’re probably getting your ass beat and then immediately adopted

If your character was allowed to murder one person without any consequences, who would that person be and why? - himself? idk??? that’s super morbid but honestly he’s considered it before

Your character has been granted 3 wishes; what would they wish for and why? - it’s 4 am and i don’t know how to answer this

Does your character trust people right off the bat or does it take them some time to warm up to someone? - one time he rescued a starving 7-year-old girl and she stabbed him so he’s fairly defensive of strangers

Do they prefer romance or affection? What is the quickest way to your character’s heart? - neither tbh but if you’re friendly he’ll warm right up to u and u will have a friend for life

Does your character have any enemies? If so, who and why? - there’s this one super mean crow that just fucking hates him and keeps coming back year after year specifically to piss him off he’s totally sure of it

Do they have any weird bedroom habits? Any unusual kinks? - he’s 100% sex-repulsed so

How does your character prepare for bed? Do they sleep at all or can they stay awake for days on end without trouble? - existing in post-apocalyptic Atlanta while also parenting two young adults and sorting out hallucinations is exhausting so he actually needs a lot of sleep even if he likes to think he doesn’t. he can and will sleep anywhere there is a semi-flat surface and it drives Rye and Blackbird fucking insane because they’ll just be like STOP FALLING ASLEEP IN RANDOM ROOMS WE CAN’T FIND YOU

If your character had one thing to say to their parents before they died, what would it be? - “screw you” to his dad and “screw you more” to his mom

Are they afraid of death? Do they have any regrets? - nah he feels like he’s done a decent job teaching the kids to Not Die and they’d be okay without him so he’s good

Does your character get restless when things are too quiet or do they favour solitude and silence? Why? - def likes his quiet & being alone but he gets antsy if he doesn’t know where Rye & Blackbird are because his mind goes straight to “whAT IF THEY’RE DEAD”

Finally; if your character was forced to eat one thing for the rest of their life, what would they choose and why? - ice cream bc he is also a giant child at heart and do u know how impossible it is to find ice cream when most of the nearby buildings have literally fallen inside each other

Why Someone Might Hate Them: He’s just… he is not good at surviving oh my god. He is neither fast nor good at fighting, and on the rare occasions he decides it’s time to kill somebody, it’s messy. He’s also not too good with social cues.




How They Change: He stops depending on himself and his wits for survival once he teams up with Rye and Sixpence. He’s able to focus his talents on repairing broken machinery around the museum, reawakening his curiosity in mechanics.




Why You Love Them: Blackbird is a sweet cinnamon roll who despite being so crazy smart is also a giant nerd and needs to be protected by his wife & adopted dad & their horse and would kill or die for them
