Renata sat down on one of the swings in the park, her bottle of whiskey almost empty. This was shit. America was shit. Her life was shit. She hated it here. Renata had never cried and tonight was not going to be the first time she did. Downing the last of her whiskey, the girl lit another of her cigarette's that contained a lot more than tobacco and began to take quick drags.

She wanted Ivankof. She wanted the little boy who had called her mama when he began to speak. She wasn't his mother, she would never be a mother, but the little boy meant so much to her. He was the reason she didn't go and kill those bastards who killed her family. He was the reason she trekked across Europe with the last of her brothers and sisters. He was the reason she hadn't drank herself to death yet. That little boy meant the world to her.

But he was better off with his new family. She had seen the pictures, had gotten the letters. She wasn't a good role model. Renata heard the planes coming and quickly put her cigarette out and threw the bottle of whiskey away. She stood up and made her way to where they would see her. Her hands lit up with electricity as she moved closer to the planes. 

Shots fired through the air, each making their home in Renata. The brunette fell to the ground. One last thing slipped through her lips. 

"ебать Америку."

Fuck America.

"Who's ready to fight back? I'm in need of some payback." Elizabeth strutted onto the battlefield, having pulled herself together.

The mutants didn't have much time before the government came. Planes, tanks and countless soldiers made their way into Ashworth. They had been told by their government that this would be easy -- that the mutants would comply.

The mutants who had been at the dance (which was almost everyone in town) were ready for them in the town hall. The children, the elderly and the pregnant had been locked in the basement. Everyone was ready. The war was starting.

The door of the hall slammed open. 

Shots were fired.

It was time to fight.
