"Think it’d help if you, I don’t fucking know, called him, Administrator?"
Ada looked at Cracked with a look of sheer, wordless hatred.
"Fine, don’t. See, I don’t fucking care, administrator. You seem to care too fucking much. That’s your problem." He stood up, threw the bottle to the ground and let it shatter. "Get yourself the fuck together," he said with a giggle as he walked away. Ada stayed where she was, watching the trickle of energy down the roof.
It took a few minutes before she actually pulled her phone out. and dialed in the number.

"Hey, Johnny." She cleared her throat. "I - I’m sorry I’m -" Silence. "Okay, fuck. I’m drunk, I’m somewhere you wouldn’t want me to be. And I was with Cracked, I’m not -" She gave what might’ve been a laugh. "I’m sorry. I didn’t do anything dumber than getting myself intoxicated. And Cr- … Cracked told me to call. He’s right. I - I’m sorry if you really thing that it’s just me drinking with my ex. It’s … wow." She laughed. "It’s so much more complicated. I wish I could explain. But … aside from you, he’s the best friend I have. Which is depressing." She sighed and looked out over the city. "So I'm taking his advice and calling to say that I'm really sorry. About everything. And you know I'm telling the truth because I'm drunk off my ass right now." She laughed. "Don't remind me of this when I'm sober, please."
She hit send before she could think it over.
