it is pretty annoying that kagome gets mad and makes him sit about it but i don't think she gets pissy bc she's being all territorial and shit it's bc kik just wants inu dead and that's pretty fucked, and also kik is dead and that's just an unhealthy relationship for inu and the rest of the gang realize that too, but i think they get so pissy bc they actually care about inuyasha and want him to live and kik kinda just wants inu to go to hell w her (i think that's harsher than kagome using sit)
i’m going to agree with you about that whole “let’s go to hell together” thing, because it’s pretty fucking extreme. at this point though, kikyo is all hatred, resentment, a clay body and her soul is torn in two, literally. the anime treats her very poorly and draws on her anger for a long time; in the manga, their interactions are more painful and melancholic, tbh. even in the anime though, kikyo stops threatening inuyasha and just has her own agenda on how to end naraku, often going out of her way (despite how painful it is to see him and know he’s with her) to keep him and the others safe, by giving them important information.
what i don’t like is how they treat him like he’s two-timing kagome somehow, which he isn’t, because kikyo is very dead but that doesn’t mean his feelings for her are, and idk, i get upset about how much he gets guilt-tripped over loving this person. life dealt them a shitty hand and everyone keeps expecting him to “just get over it”? no, sorry, no. it’s not fair.
even in the episode where she saves kikyo (in the lake, and she has visions of the day she died), when inuyasha asks her about kikyo she a) gets upset, b) tells him to sit, and c) tells him she hates him. again, guilt-tripping him for caring about kikyo. so even though he clearly wants to go to her, he doesn’t, and when he goes off later to see her in the middle of the night, she makes a big fuss of it in the morning, demanding to know if he saw kikyo. to which inuyasha answers yes, upfront, and everyone’s all gASP how dARE YOu.
i know part of them care about inuyasha. but a bigger part of them cares about kagome, and when she’s all pissy like that, it’s likely because he shows he still cares about the dead girl and that upsets her. it literally only stops until kikyo dies for good.
