But right now, the sun and Yuu have a love-hate relationship, because, despite it being the sole reason for his current discomfort, it was also the sole source of light shining down upon them, illuminating Yuu’s current environment of what was evidently a waterpark, but more importantly, the man in front of him. 

Yuu watches Mika emerge from the pool, water sloshing around, matting his golden hair to his face and weighing down his swim trunks just so. He smiles radiantly, flashing his teeth, which match the immaculate white of his swim trunks. It’s like watching a tampon commercial, Yuu thinks to himself. Wait, no. That doesn’t make sense, because… well, because fucking duh. His brow furrows ever so slightly. What’s the male equivalent of a tampon commercial? Fucking… Axe body spray? What the fuck. OKAY, FOUR PAULTIN HEADCANONS

Headcanon A:  realistic

Purple’s not even his favourite colour. He just wears a lot of it because there are still places where it’s “the colour of royalty” and he wants to be obnoxious about wearing such an “expensive” colour when he’s nothing of the sort(When he found out that he is, in fact, related to nobility, he was very annoyed about it but also appreciated the irony)

Headcanon B: while it may not be realistic it is hilarious

He can scream and yell really, really loudly, for a really long time, if he wants to. Listen, okay, listen. He’s a piper. He’s a piper. Do you have any idea how much lung capacity it takes to play the bagpipes? It takes a lot. And thanks to that Paultin could scream on one side of Waterdeep and probably still be faintly heard all the way on the other.

Headcanon C: heart-crushing and awful, but fun to inflict on friends

He’s seen, and done, a lot of bad stuff in his life (”I’ve worked for worse for less”) and he drinks to forget all of it, but... well, that doesn’t work perfectly. He remembers a lot more than he even knows because almost all of it comes back in nightmares.He can’t remember the last time he had an actually restful sleep, even before Barovia the first time.

Headcanon D: unrealistic, but I will disregard canon about it because I reject canon reality and substitute my own.

Until we get an entire detailed Paultin backstory telling us everything he did in the entire 25 years pre-canon, I will choose to believe that he got raised by Fantasy!Scots for a while after his family was killed and nobody can stop me

Oooh yes, these aren’t the best idea i have but hey what can ya do?

So the reason they go to Hogwarts instead of a Japanese school was that there was this big war that happened in the Japanese wizarding community when Soun and Genma first left school that led to a lot of muggles and wix getting killed, so a lot of the wizards in that area migrated to Europe and other parts of Asia. Soun just so happened to move to the UK.

Pretty sure we talked about this one before somewhat, but Genma stayed in Japan during the war and after it, he met Nodoka and they had Ranma together. He never told her about him being a wizard and when Ranma started showing signs of accidental magic, when he was about 6 or 7, he took him away and they moved as far away as possible, to the UK. They don’t exactly have a place to the call home so they’re pretty nomadic. It’s a lot easier for them to get by with magic, so they steal food from shops often. By the time Ranma is able to go to Hogwarts, they’re staying at a shelter in London.

Soun and Genma were school friends and meet each other again when they’re dropping off they’re children at the Hogwarts express. They try and force Ranma and Akane to get along since they’re in the same year but they are just not having it.

The Tendo girls have a bit of an Irish accent. Just imagine it.

If we’re placing this before/during the hp series, Snape haaaaates Akane because of how terrible she is at potions. She’s always confusing ingredients and has ended up in the hospital wing several times from the outcome of some of her potions
