How's the recovery going after the surgery?

Oh my god everything aches and I have a constant slight migraine for 3 days straight

I think it’s mostly because I had a lot of blood leave my body during the surgery (the surgeon told me) so I have low blood pressure so I’m drinking a lot of water right now

Evey trans friend of mine that went thru top surgery has been telling me that the first week is an aching overthinking nightmare and it gets significantly better after the first week passes so I’m just waiting for the next 4 more days to pass so that I feel better enough to work on comms and other art stuff

hihi !! just here to ask, how do u draw ur ocs so smooth, like fluid? like what shapes do you use, how do u draw them so exaggerated and cool

Probably the worst answer to hear for ur question I’m sorry I think I’ve always really liked to draw fluid for like a really long time,

I like to focus on the motion / fluidity first and then tweak it to somewhat match proportions and I think that helps to try and keep it flowy instead of stiff

I also do a lot of no sketch drawings on my skethcbook (drawing with pen and no erasers) to build up my line confidence which also helped a lot in giving me confidence in posing and just trying out stuff instead of focusing too hard or overthinking poses

What shapes do I use… I guess depends on charavter if ur talking about proportions I like using squares for body and head, cylinders for limbs!

Exaggeration… rhats Actually somethkng I want to get better at cuz I don’t think I draw to the fullest potential of exaggeration… but I think the fluid poses advice I gave earlier would apply here as well!

my favorite things about your art are. you blend animals and humans SO well,, like when i look at your art and animations i can see that you genuinely do know and understand how different animal species move and you mix it with human movement at the perfect ratio imo. and you also manage to make the acting look so real?? that is one of the most difficult parts of making character art for me. and you get the action across with so little information too!! your composition is also really good,, you make your animations look like they could all be separate art pieces for each frame. my favorite thing youve made is your oh lugsury video bc of that.

but tbh? even if the art WASNT as cool as it is,, i think i would still be subscribed to you bc you seem to have real love for the characters and stories you share and it shows. im always happy to see your work whenever it comes up!! but please,, dont feel pressure to pump out stuff just bc people are watching. your art is so good bc you care about it. your enjoyment is the most important thing!!

Hi! This was an ask from ages ago that I kept in my inbox cuz I’m greedy and I was re reading this over and over again SORRY it’s just a huge complement for me ^^

I really love animals and I love people and I love adding animalistic elements to my stories ^^ it’s one of my fav things to think about when world building a little! I don’t want to overwhelm my story w world building as it can take away from the main plot sometimes but I think adding some animalistic basis to some characters and world stuff is super fun and I’m very glad people notice my efforts! I try to do at least some basic research when I try to create behaviors or personalities to my chatacters based on their species :D

And thank you sm for the acting complement!!!!!! Means the world…. I love oh lugsury a lot too was fun experimenting w color and composition and having fun w it! Altho it didn’t do as well as the other videos which I don’t really mind much it is one of my favs !

I’m happy that my love for story and chatacters shine thru my art and videos! I do feels somewhat of pressure when my videos do do good but to lyk I do prioritize my quality over quantity and will be doing that for as long as I create as my stories are rlly important and special to me! I want to cherish it and show people after I know for a fact it satisfyingly and successfully tell the story I want to telll thru it!

Heres my ramble about building oc personalities vv

How do I understand the feel of my ocs…. Hmm… i think for my band ocs they’re all very VERY loosely based on some bands of their time and they were the basis of some of my ocs (altho they are quite different personality wise by now after like an year of development LOL) I think what I like to focus on is what story I want to tell thru them? That makes it easier to make chatacters and then branch out from there. I also like to focus on flaws. Im a big fan of chatacter flaws… and I think for this universe it’s really essential that my ocs have a LOT of flaws ESPECIALLY because of the time period they’re based on. It could be their insensitivity, societal issues, personal relation issues, internalized isses etc etc just making flaws and thinking about reasons a chatacter might act a certain way also helps I think.

I also wanted to add that a lot of my ocs are small parts of me and stuff I’ve struggled with becoming their main things they struggle with just in the context of their story. I think I do this so that I can portray the feelings they might be feelings more accurately to how I personally felt during what they’re going thru. If there’s an issue I want to tackle that I’ve never personally been thru, I try my best to research and that can help a lot as well

Ummmm so tldr I think treating ur ocs like people, people with cause and effects, people with actions and consequences is how I do it me thinks!

How did you start writing your characters?

If ur talking about my band ocs,

I rlly liked the pop punk and emo scene of the 2000s… the bands are intriguing, yes, but I find the whole era so interesting musically and industry wise as the ‘normal people like you and me basement/garage bands’ becoming thrusted into stardom and the mental health effects from it, the scandals, the many different ways bands fell through, the changing of relationships between bands and labels as they all become popular… the musician’s struggle of staying true to your roots and making music you feel from your heart and making music to sell.. the endless sleepless purgatory of bus touring… such a special part of music history where alternative punk-rooted music got to the mainstream and the quick downfall of it as pop took over… having to struggle through all of that while your life and relationships are on blast to the public (insane tabloids in the 2000s) with one wrong move sending you back to your old home town you swore on your life to leave thru ur lyrics.. it’s such a unique moment in music.

The struggle and uniqueness of the era is fascinating but also the community and diy aspect of it (mostly the start as a lot of the bands’ roots lay In punk) also makes it so special imo and I really wanted to make stories with characters that could touch upon those aspects while telling a story of interpersonal struggles between, within, and during different bands!
