1.  What OTPs in your fandom(s) do you just not get?

I’ll just pick one at random that is ridiculously popular that I don’t personally buy - Garak/Bashir.  do i believe Garak is interested in Julian?  oh yea (though TBH, one never really KNOWS with Garak, do they? lol).  but I don’t believe Julian has any interest back beyond friendship.  I don’t see it.  

2.  Are there any popular fandom OTPs you only BroTP?

I suppose this would apply to Harry and Tom.  Though i COULD see this one depending on the situation this happening….or the triad of them and B’Elanna together.  

3.  Have you ever unfollowed someone over a fandom opinion?

I can’t recall off the top of my head.

4.  Do you have a NoTP in your fandom? Are they a popular OTP?C/7 and no it’s not even remotely popular LOL.  there’s a grand total of like four people who ship that trash and refuse to wake up to the fact that it only exists because of Brannon Braga’s juvenile-ass sexist tantrum.

5.  Has fandom ever ruined a pairing for you?

I don’t think so.

For the Fanfic Ask Meme: I and V

I: Do you have a guilty pleasure in fic (reading or writing)?

Given I’ve been around for-fucking-ever since the old days *mumbles about kids on lawns ;)*, I would say a semi-guilty pleasure is some of the older fics I still have copies of.  some are problematic in ways (characterization mainly, many were written during second or even first season, so LOTS of interpretation space to be had then). but I can’t help but love them because they are classic to me.

V: A secondary (or underrated) character you want to see more of in fic?

Joe Carey, Tal Celes, and Mariah Henley.

though, recently writers have been making strides in filling these holes - Ayala now has a little cadre of fangirls to call his own and @devoverest has an awesome Sam Wildman backstory series..  (anyone want to take on the other three? :)

5.  What’s your favorite headcanon you use in fics?

Currently, there is really only one thing I use consistently:  Chakotay’s spirit guide is a wolf (thank you, Christie Golden).  not a snake. no snakes. just no.

used to use a lot in the old days, I’ll give you two:

Tom’s spirit guide is a golden eagle and B’Elanna’s is a peregrine falcon.  I got the latter idea with the whole “B’Elanna’s the only one I know who tried to kill her guide” crack Chakotay made.

Kathryn’s middle name is Melanie.  the initial “M” was mentioned in the Caretaker novelization and I gave that to her from that point on since canon never bothered to give her one (and Elizabeth isn’t canon either.  that’s someone else’s fanon pick.  if it were, that’d be cool because then we’d share a middle name!  but it’s not, so i gave her one!) 

15.  Give us a snippet of something from your WiPs!

from Rainbow #2, the intro to the Delta Flyer in an AU way….

“Now that you’re bothhere, do you have a few minutes?" 

"We do,”Chakotay replied.  "What’s goingon?“ 

Instead of replying, Harrytapped his badge.  "Kim toParis." 

"Paris here.” 

“The eagle haslanded." 

"Acknowledged.” 

Kathryn raised aneyebrow.  "Harry?“ 

The ensign grinned.  "You’ll see, Captain." 

The distinct hum of animpulse engine echoing from the west broke the relative stillness.  Kathryn turned towards the sound just as asmall diamond-shaped craft appeared on the horizon, its Starfleet linesbecoming more apparent as it closed the distance.  Swooping over the heads of the gathered crew,the craft banked a wide curve near the opposite horizon and performed a seriesof zigzagging darts above the eastern forest before ascending into thestratosphere and briefly vanishing from sight. 

Kathryn turned to thestill beaming Harry.  "Is this whatI’ve seen you two whispering about the past couple weeks?" 

"Yup.  We wanted to surprise you." 

The swoosh of the craft’s descent drew her attention once more; itreturned much the way it had come, looping past the forest and back overhead,coming to land a dozen meters behind Voyager. As the crew hurried over, the shuttle’s hatch opened.  Tom emerged first, followed by B'Elanna,Seven of Nine and finally Vorik.  Tomweaved through the crowd, accepting the praise and backslaps as he made his wayto the command team’s side. 

"So what do youthink, Captain?" 

"I don’t know whetherto be miffed that you didn’t let me in on this project or to praise youringenuity,” Kathryn admitted. “Maybe a combination of both. But it’s not nice to leave your captain in the dark,” she added,fixing him with a slight glare. 

“Wouldn’t be asurprise if we’d told you, though,” Tom winked, gesturing her to followhim as he headed back to the shuttle.  "Don’tworry, Tuvok supervised.“ 

"How long did it taketo construct?” Chakotay asked. 

“About two weeks,though this is something B'Elanna and I have been working on in concept formfor about six months now.  Because let’sface it—standard Starfleet shuttles just don’t cut it in the DeltaQuadrant.  We’ve needed something biggerand better since we got here. So….” The pilot gestured with a grin.“We built it ourselves." 

"In two weeks,”she repeated, shaking her head in amazement. 

“Beholdthe Delta Flyer. Ultra-aerodynamiccontours, retractable nacelles, parametallic hull plating, unimatrix shieldingbased on a design Tuvok’s been working on, and a Borg-inspired weapons systemcontributed by Seven.”  Tom gave thehull an affectionate pat.  "Wanna goinside?“

For the Fanfic Day meme: 1 and 12.

1.  What is your favorite fic you have under your belt?

(Always gotta pick the hard questions, don’t you? ;)  Picking just one is like asking me to pick a favorite book - my answer will constantly change lol.  I’m gonna have to currently go with In the Rainlight because it was a challenge to me to do first person present tense and i feel i was successful at doing so.

12.  What’s the hardest thing to write for you?

it’s a tie between action scenes and arguments.  the former because I never know if it feels action-y enough (ask @darkin520 how much hair-pulling came of writing Nathan and Len’s knock-down-drag-out in Hand of Wrath) and the latter because keeping the parties in check if they are canon characters requires lots of re-reading before calling it done.

okay from what I know of Spot (haven’t seen all of TNG yet), here goes.

i like to snuggle (but unfortunately there is no one here to do so with…Spot’s a lucky cat for she has Data.)

For the character meme: Kathryn + sneaking out of the house as a teen.

oh i like this one.

she won’t sneak out on nights that are full moon.  (because duh, moonlight lights up eeeeverything including sneaky teenagers crossing through the fields ;)

getting caught by the parents is, of course, a concern.  getting caught by Phoebe is the bigger worry because there’s no guarantee that Phoebe won’t run her mouth (whether the reason would be to take pleasure in getting big sister in trouble or just because she forgets and blurts it out).

if a forbidden night out is planned, she makes sure not to draw attention to it by acting like it’s any other evening.  can’t make it obvious!

living in a traditional/old style house means a few creaky spots in the floors.  one of those is in the upstairs hallway two steps past the parents’ bedroom door.  another is the fourth step from the bottom of the stairs.  those spots are lava on late night excursions.

and the couple times she has forgotten the above, those old ballet skills she hated to learn come in handy!

Send me a character + thing and I’ll tell you my headcanon for them and that thing.
