Why hello there incredibly adorable old man. You seem awesome! Do you have an awesome group of pals to hang with? And how would I go about joining your awesome posse?
"Ha, adorable? I can't recall anyone ever describing me as such!"
"Your flattery aside, there are a couple of individuals I consider myself close friends with…"
“You could have told me to do so in the first place…” -grumble grumble-
>Malik the Braixen has been unlocked!
"Ah, don't pay him much mind. Now, as for becoming someone I trust?"
"Well, I suppose I just have to take a liking to you!"
"The longer they are left in such a state, the further removed they become from who they once were. And so, we do what we can to help those spirits pass on."
((My headcanon on ghosts under the cut!))
((Alrighty, so it seems a lot of ghosts in the community who are of the deceased variety are rather well-adjusted to their un-life and can recall a fair amount of detail from their time as a living being.
My idea of ghosts doesn't quite run like that.
In my mind, to come back they would need a very powerful, generally negative, reason. Something so important to them that they cannot rest until it's settled. They often stay in a single area, be it the one where they passed on, or one with a special importance to them that they were only able to find through "muscle" memory. Their actual memories are often a haze with the most vivid ones being at the end. Usually they can recall a word or phrase that was once of significance, and can help steer them in a direction to finding peace.
Now, I don't think that my headcanon is the only one worth following, nor do I dislike anyone's ghosts if they don't fit within those guidelines! It's a vast world where all kinds of things can happen. These are just the kinds of ghosts the villagers have seen in the past, and thus, are the ones they know and are accustomed to.))
Do you have a particularly fond memory of when you were young elder?
"Of when I was young? My, that was quite a long time ago now, wasn't it?"
"The age of discovery. Every moment to be lived to the fullest."
"But in youth, one fails to look much further than beyond that moment. Rarely does one understand the lasting implications of a single action or word…"
"But if I knew then what I do now… well, I suppose I wouldn't be here, would I?"
"This stone was a gift from our goddess herself, you see, and when she bestowed it upon this village she spoke of the power it held. The ability to awaken hidden potential in Pokémon thought to be at their highest form, but to do this, it needed another, smaller stone. One that would react to the wishes between the two bearers."
"It was never revealed how to obtain the second stone, however, and she has not been heard from since..."
"Ah, but I do apologize for prattling on. I'm sure that was far more information than you were looking for."
