"... Oh. Y-Yes sure. Sorry."

Still on her tiptoes, a few inches from Yusuke's lips, Haruko fell back on her heels and took a couple of steps away, head dropping low and face burning for the shame. Her and Yusuke had been fooling around more often lately. Things had gotten... More physical. Kisses were occasional, but not rare, mostly given out of a playful tease, but she enjoyed each of them nonetheless.

This time, she had tried to go for one while they were in Yusuke's favourite breakfast place; it was an especially busy day and they were waiting in line for a table. But clearly, he wasn't in the mood for it.

"I'm sorry," she stammered again, her heart shrinking at the rejection while she stared at her feet. "... That was childish of me. I shouldn't play such stupid games while we're in public." She bit her lips, unable to lift her head up. "I won't do it again, I promise."

"No! We gotta be quick!" Haruko was pulling Yusuke by his hand as she hurried down the street, dragging him along. "This movie is becoming too popular and they might sell all the tickets if we're late!"

In fact, there was a huge queue waiting just outside the cinema. Mostly couples, Haruko realised as she joined the tail end. Oh, well, it was to be expected. It is a romantic comedy, after all, and she had tricked Yusuke into promising her to go together if she had helped him with yet another nasty demon-hunting job. Which she would have done anyways, of course, but hey, two birds with one stone, right...?

"Here. Oh, I hope we make it inside." She panted, regaining some breath. "Everyone's talking about it! It's about a rough demon slayer who falls in love with a girl, but she's special and can see demons too, and they have to fight the forces of evil together...!" Wait. The plot sounds... Awfully familiar, except for some details. Huh. "I'm sure you'll enjoy it too! There's lots of action, I swear! Or so I've heard..."

It's just another fine day grocery shopping but then came to a stop once Atsuko saw a familiar face within the produce aisle. That's..her, the girl her son's spoken about and sometimes at great lengths. Not to mention he's seen the picture of the two of them together on his phone, a rather casual selfie. "Haruko-chan, that's you isn't it? I recognize that face anywhere. My Yusuke talks a lot about you."

"Oh??"

Haruko's head wheels around at the mention of her name. The woman calling for her is... Pretty. In a very familiar way, one that makes her heart beat quicker. Once the woman clarify who she is, the lightbulb in Haruko's head lights up -- and her cheeks do, too.

"Oh! Oh my-- Really??" She exclaims, as excited and nervous as if she had just met a superstar. "You're-- Yusuke's mom??"

She bows quickly, so fastly and abruptly her neck almost cracks -- ouch.

"I-I'm happy to meet you! I'm Tsukushima Haruko... Oh, but you already know, don't you?" Get a grip Haruko, she'll end up thinking you're an idiot! "I'm sorry, it's just... I've heard so much about you too," she admitted, rubbing her nape as she stretched up with an embarrassed smile. "Yusuke spoke so fondly of you... Oh, and you're such a pretty woman too! I should have guessed immediately you were related, you're so alike...!" WAIT HARUKO WHAT WARE YOU SAYING?!

"We're buddy ol' pals right?" And after that question he hands her a flyer. From the looks of things, it was a circus that's coming to Yokohama and at the center, there was clearly promotion concerning a Super Sentai group that will be taking part in the act, and that's what's had him excited. Wanna come with?? I actually managed t' snag two tickets and I want you t' have one."

"Oh??"

Haruko stared at the colourful tickets with eyes wide open. A circus?! That was such a cute idea!

"Oh yess -- I'd love to!" She squealed, hopping on the place. "I can't even recall when I went to a circus last, I was probably five or four... That's such a cute idea! Thank you for thinking of me!"

"If you're asking me if I mind it... No, not really. It doesn't change much, Yusuke is still Yusuke no matter what. I think people speak through their actions, regardless of where they come from, and have their right of drawing their own path through their choices."

"... But sure, it does make me wonder a lot of things. Like... How can he transform? Does he have different senses because of it? Is his experience of our time together different than mine because of his nature? D-Does it mean I'd have to put more work into tha...?"

"You know, I think about it quite often. I wish I could never leave my part-time job... Mister Takagi feels like family now, and the Coffee Bean feels like home. It'll be a very sad day for sure... And I'd rather not think too much about it for now. But I'm sure I'd love to stay in touch with a boss, he's such a nice person."

A snowfall is being thrown at her face, if it hit's it intended target, it may be noted that it's quite soft, but still considerably damn cold :D

"WAH!"

The hit caught her aback. Haruko shivered, brushed the snow from her face, shook it from her hair, and sneezed loudly.

"Who was that...?!"

She wheeled arouns but the culprit was gone. With another shiver and a loud sneeze, she resumed her walk with large, annoyed stomps, rubbing her cold nose.

"Damn pranksters..."
