Stiles: we miss her too... Its hard to think about because she was so young and... Now her dad is alone and... It's all my fault. I wasnt strong enough to fight against the Nogitsune, and the people I cared about suffered... Isaac is... Not the same. At least Scotts got Kira. Hes got no one but the pack... And sometimes... I dont think thats enough. I know Im not suppose to talk like that. Derek wouldnt be happy but- its hard not to, you know?

It was Katie. He was 16.

They both got soaked getting the horses into the barn during a sudden storm. The rain was cold but the ground was summer sun-warm and it made a sort of steam that rose from the dirt. The humidity made the air feel thicker in his throat. He focused on the way it felt to swallow and the warm moisture beading on his skin to keep himself together when she took her clothes off with a smile he was sure nobody else had ever seen.
