Have you considered a more romantic approach to wooing Daenerys? Singing to her, perhaps? After all, you gave her those charming books of songs and histories of Westeros. I think she finds you a bit serious; it might help your cause to show her your lighter side.

No matter where I go, I will always be of the North. Even whilst I am sweating in the deserts of Essos, winter--the Bay of Ice, the cold of Bear Island--is in my bones.

Yet I would not leave the desert if it meant parting certain company...

So to answer your question, my lady--winter is in my bones, but the desert is in my heart...and I've always chosen my heart, for better or worse.
