Amethyst - Which character would do anything to save their own skin, regardless of the consequences?

Ooh, that would be Degory. He’s the villain in one of my projects, a time travellers, and I’m sure he’d do whatever it takes to get away with what he does. He can be very friendly if he wants to, but ultimately he doesn’t care about others.

Opal - Which character has changed the most since you originally created them?

Is it cheating if I name of one my very first characters here? I didn’t have a lot of details about Ray when I first started writing him, but he grew a lot over the years (along with his writer, I guess), and I’m looking forward to getting to write him again soon. He changed from being a random friendly guy to having an actual personality btw.

Shadow would be worth mentioning here as well, I think. I changed his backstory several times, his personality has changed, he has a handicap now, and his fears and hopes are different. Okay, I should have put him first I guess.

Citrine - What characters have your favorite dynamic so far? What is it you like about the way they interact?

Blackie and Goldy by far. I love the banter between them, their stupid nicknames for each other (their actual names are Jonathan and James), how much they care for each other... I kind of think they’re the best characters I’ve come up with so far.

Grey: What’s a common writing tip that you almost always follow?

I definitely try to “show, don’t tell” most of the time, but I’m not sure if I’m very good at it. That’s usually something that I improve when I’m editing.

Green: Pencil, typewriter, or computer?

All of the above! I usually work out plots and characters with fountain pens on paper. Since I collect fountain pens, I have a lot of variety in ink colours and nib sizes. Each of my novel type WIPs gets one notebook for all the plot notes, character profiles and whatnot. I used to write on a typewriter when I was about... seven or so, but I use a laptop now. In word sprints I can write up to 2k words in an hour, but that reaaally depends on which project I’m working on. Oh, and I’m currently using a pencil to write in my journal because I accidentally bought one with awfully thin paper.

Gold: Do your stories usually contain lessons or morals?

They often do, yes! I don’t usually make it that clear and let my readers interpret it however they want, but I usually have an idea of what moral it is supposed to convey (or just imply).
