I did see Schmigadoon at the Kennedy center and it was 90% the show with a bit more Danny Bailey carousel ending and a new song or two but yeah Isabella McCalla and the woman who played the dove Cameron role were the STANDOUTS. It was delightful and the audience I talked to was a mix of show fans and people who did NOT watch the show

honestly kinda expected that, I don't know what you could change aside from maybe adding a few more jokes and songs (which I've heard they did) but I also wouldn't know what kind of new jokes/songs they could add, haven't seen the show in a while! either way, it'd be really cool to see it on stage!

speaking of new songs, I saw that they changed betsy's number to a song called not that kinda gal. I didn't really get that change until I heard that cinco wrote the changed number as one of the first songs for schmigadoon before it became a tv show. I like the enjoy the ride reprise better, but not that kinda gal sounds good too. and hey, at least betsy gets her own song!

interesting they included more danny bailey stuff though! I finally listened to carousel a few months ago, so now that I can actually understand the carousel references, I wonder what they did in the stage version. I also find the you can't tame me reprise way more funnier now lol

as an alex brightman fan, I'm excited for him as josh (I do kinda wish they kept josh black/casted a person of color, especially for that biracial relationship rep, but maybe that's just me, I'm still happy to see brightman in a show again) but I'm WAY more excited to see isabella mccalla as emma and mckenzie kurtz as betsy. emma's my favorite schmigadoonian, and mckenzie is running the broadway.com vlog and she seems pretty cool!

overall I'm so happy schmigadoon is getting some attention again. I love that show so much and it still pisses me off that it got canceled even with into the schmoods fully written. I really hope this gets enough hype for S3 to be greenlit, but judging by how a lot of my favorite shows (both tv and musicals) get canceled so early, I feel like it might not happen. it would suck ass, but hopefully schmigadoon is different!!!

...maaaaybe we can get schmicago on stage after schmigadoon 👀? I prefer it over S1 since I'm more familiar with that era of musicals so it'd be awesome to have them referenced on broadway again!

♥ (08) What is your OC’s dream marriage proposal? 

Marriage is completely out of Mim’s mind tbh! Proposals and marriage hold no meaning to her. 

Grimcrawl doesn’t dream of such things either, but if she had to choose then she’d prefer a casual proposal, at home, after talking about it for a while. 

♥ (09) What is your OC’s favorite small way to show their love?

Attention! Time together! Mim will drag them to her school and research duties as well so they can spend more time together! 

Grimcrawl likes offering help now and then, when it doesn’t mean going out of her way. Like if she’s going the store and they need something too, she’ll get it for them. 

♥ (12) What do you love most about your OC?

With Mim, I like her shapeshifting! When I start drawing them more I want to show how Mim changes her body a lot! Mim in the past also adopted more masculine or androgynous looks. But the ones I’m most excited about are obviously the more monstrous forms she can take!! Gotta show why people fear her, right?

Grimcrawl.... I like older women. Tehee ❤ But in all seriousness I did want to make more older characters that showed said age. If you zoom on her art you can see I (tried) to add wrinkles and a more mature look. I’m still pretty new to it tho 👉👈 

♥ (13) How does your OC show their love to those that are not their partner(s)?

Mim gives them more attention, bothering to remember even little details about them. She’s also very vocal and free with her compliments, as well as digs. It can feel at times like you’re more so her new hobby rather than a friend but... well, actually, that wouldn’t be wrong.

Grimcrawl too will give more attention, but it comes more as advice. She has plenty of experience and wisdom to share, and will notice if you aren’t taking care of yourself and offer guidance on how to fix it.

Duuude it's so nice to see other ppl putting Groundhog Day on my dash, I saw it on the west end last weekend and it was the best musical I've ever seen in my life I think

how does your captain regard the crew? are they all business or do they treat everyone like a friend? and/or what did they do before becoming the invincible's captain?

oh they are ALL my friends and I try very hard to talk to each crewmate! I don't want them to feel intimidated, I want to be able to get to know them so we're all one big team :).

I feel like that sounds like corporate boss bullshit, but I actually would love to get to know each crewmate! I'm down for making new friends and trying to get along with people, especially since we're in an environment where if we don't work together, we might end up fucking up our mission and leaving everyone for dead.

as for what I did before being a captain... well I was kinda stuck in a mirror dimension by an old friend of mine for an eternity, then one day I'm on the shuttle to the invincible 2.

that is basically what I think of how y/n ends up in these adventures-- they're stuck in that mirror until another adventure is made and they're needed as a character. soooo might as well make it my captain's backstory too!
