if you’d like, could you please also do a quiet evening with the courtiers? no pressure though if you don’t want to! thank you ✨
Not gonna lie, this was a challenge XDDD the Courtiers are anything but quiet, but I hope I did okay!
A Quiet Evening -*Courtier Edition*-
Vlastomil
The quiet rumbling, scrape of a large worm slithering on the top soil
The wet sound of the smaller ones writhing in a large pile
Scents of wet soil/dirt, dried bones, stone
Clinking of coin on hardwood and the scrape of quill on paper from a recent purchase for his little ones
A soft cackling and click of boots on marble as he rushes to see his ‘children’
The slight moisture in the air, cooling as you walk by each trough
Vulgora
The sound of a blade sharpening against a whetstone
The metallic screech of metal claws on rough, carved stone
A wet thump as a limb falls to the ground
Distant clang of blades clashing, and a terrified yell from the loser, the sound stifled as they choke on their own blood
Fire crackling from torches and nearby pits
A slight whine of metal, and the scent of meat as it rotates over the fire
Volta
Faint clanging of plates being cleaned and readied for the next meal in the kitchens
Rhythmic crunching from chewing on the last mouthful
A soft whine and the muffled rumbling of a hunger yet to be satisfied
The sound of billowing, heavy fabrics from their clothing and the nearby curtains
Air warmed with the heavy scent of spices, meats, vegetables and fruits
The scrape of utensils on a plate as the last crumbs are devoured
Valdemar
The sickening, wet pop of cartilage and bone being torn and rearranged
A faint dripping of blood onto the floor from the last victim on a nearby exam table
The snap of the buttons on a fresh apron being donned, and the rustling of the previous one being dropped into a bin
Soft clicking and chittering from the large alcove of plague beetles, swarming over their next meal
The heavy scent of blood mixed with the sharp smell of chemical sanitizer
A faint humming of someone enjoying their work, echoing off the rough stone walls
Valerius
The pop of a cork from opening a new bottle
A faint clicking of clasps from removing various golden accessories of the day
Crunching and the soft hum of satisfaction from pairing just the right cheese and crackers with tonight’s selection
The slight rustling of fine fabrics against an overstuffed chaise
Warm crackling from the large fireplace, and the scent of wood and perfectly fermented wine
The soft, muffled jingle of coin held in a designer pouch as it’s set inside a box on the dresser
