N stares at the pit. He holds his own hand, his wings draped over his back like a blanket. He seems to will for it - for Uzi to crawl back out and back to his arms where he can keep her safe. They could keep each other safe. He finally breaks his gaze from the pit, the lights on his visor refreshing until they got stuck in a wheel of death. N keeps his back to Tessa, “It’s just us,” he mumbles, “J, V, Cyn, and Uzi. We couldn’t..” his voice cracks.

Such is the nature of disassembly. Nothing is saved.
