I'm going to give odd answers for this. I can already tell, so here we go.

The three currencies in life are money, time, and energy (different people have different versions of this, like time, money, knowledge, and attention, but I think that's too specific anyways). Spend these currencies on the people in your life who you appreciate and want to keep around. I'm not going to lie it means a lot when people show me the things that make them happy, like a sticker, a song, a video, or a picture. It's sharing a piece of their happiness with me in the hopes that I will also appreciate it and I usually do because that's time and energy. So share something, and I will probably talk about it and ask about it, but the act of sharing it with me makes me feel special. And adding a story to it always helps.

I value humor more than intelligence because laughing is so important and helps just make everything else easier. I am not a genius or someone of great station, I'm a guy who is curious by nature, works too much, plays board games, and loves movies. 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

I don't plan things, especially like that, because I don't want to artificially create expectations that other people have to meet. Every few months I stop and ask myself "Hey are you happy? And if not what would help you be happier?" Right now, I am working on being a more social person in real life so I will see how that goes.

Honestly my biggest fear is having a head injury that makes me forget everything that happened in the last 8 years. I have loved, lost, grown, challenged myself, worked to become a better healthier and happier person, and I am proud of the road that's taken me to get here.

Does true love exist? I'll be honest with you. I think love is in everything. I have seen firsthand that doing a small gesture for a stranger can help stabilize or fix a crappy day. I wish we were better at perceiving the love that we receive. The smile at a checkout, a small child waving, confirming the order of a series in a book store, recommending a game someone is looking at. The small details of care we give to each other. Romantic love is a very similar response, we make the love we crave and are strong enough to hold.

I prefer having both kinds of friends and usually it's in fluxx. I want some go-to friends but then also friends who send me goofy videos that remind them of me. I want a pod or community.

I'm sorry if my answers seem noncommittal, but I want to believe in groups of friends as a community (including people we dont always get along with).

Why do you like 5SOS?

Oh gosh anon, you’ve asked quite the question. I don’t know if I can put it into words as best as I can. I’ll try though.

When I first found the boys, it was the summer before my sophomore year of high school. It was a weird summer and I had just been told that I had an anxiety disorder. This isn’t about that, but I was in a place and well, watching the covers, videos from Take Me Home tour, their video diaries, all of it really was one of the only things making me smile. In a time when it really felt hard, there were these four Australian weirdos that made it better. There was a whole day that I just watched their old twitcams and I smiled the entire time. 

They introduced me to music I hadn’t heard before. My whole All Time Low love started because of them. I’ve grown up really listening to these four goofballs that I’ve come to love. Their first album came out and I went and got it for my birthday (turned 16) and it was the only thing I listened to for the whole summer up until seeing them that summer. Their music has always been able to reach me on a different level than other artists and I’ve never had that with any other band or artist. When Sounds Like Feels Live came out, I was in my senior year of high school. Jet Black Heart was my anthem for a good three months because it meant so much to me. Seeing them live has always gotten me feeling emotional because of how proud I am of them and how much they really do mean to me.

It isn’t because they’re attractive which yes, is great and all, but it’s because these four Australians have really changed how I view the world. I will always wait as long as it takes for another album or another live show or really anything because they have my entire heart. I can’t even begin to put it into words how much this most recent album has meant to me. Yeah, the sound is different and the songs are more upbeat, but it’s the lyrics that have me there. It’s the way that they are always so kind when meeting fans. It’s the way that somehow we’ve all changed their lives and that we make them happy. You could give me an endless amount of time to think about this and it still wouldn’t be enough. You could put any other band, artist, musician in my face and I would still pick 5SOS over them. I love my boys and I will always love my boys.
