Newer to the Greek god following. I recently fell off my devotions after moving in with my bf and having a months long depression episode. I worry they feel neglected but idk how to fix it
Congratulations on the new move and I'm sorry you're going through a depressive episode, I hope my advice helps:
I recommend easing yourself back into connecting with the gods by offering devotional acts that are already a part of your routine instead of giving a physical gift that requires an altar and time out of your day to do it (especially when you have just moved and are still in a transitional period of getting settled into your new home).
For example; instead of giving a physical gift like a glass of wine, I recommend a devotional act like brushing your teeth as a gift, you're already going to brush your teeth anyway, so praying in your head while you brush your teeth and connecting with that god is no different than giving them that glass of wine, your gods want to connect with you and don't often care about the kind of gift you give them so long as it's given with respect and love.
This is especially important if you're experiencing depression.
Your deities want you to feel better and they know how hard depression can hit and destroy someone's health and well-being, so you brushing your teeth for them, taking a shower for them, cleaning your space that may have gotten messy due to how depression can cause us to neglect our own well being, or doing whatever you have accidently neglected that is especially good for your well-being like doing laundry can really be a more powerful gift than physical gifts because you are persevering despite the depression and you are doing it on their behalf.
This is also the time when you need your gods the most so please don't worry about the old routine, I don't sense they feel neglected, this is normal when you move, you have to find your footing first, the gods understand.

As usual none of the art is mine, it's all made in picrew or meiker.io :)
Hey, got a question: you wrote you can't / won't post real photos of you guys - why though? Also, your blog is cool, keep it up!
Hey anon, thanks for the compliment, I will keep it up.
As for your question, there are several reasons:
- I won’t post real photos of Lucifer because I think it’s not allowed (?) to just spread images of a person online without their consent. And I don’t have his consent because I haven’t told him about this blog. I don’t want him to randomly find pictures of himself online, especially ones he knows I took. You know. He’d probably be mad at me.
- I won’t post photos of myself because I don’t want people to recognise me. Yes, it’s unlikely since none of my friends are on tumblr (as far as I know), but I still don’t want to risk it. As long it’s just first names, lookalikes and stock photos I could still deny it’s me :P
- I don’t like posting photos of myself in the first place. I think I’m not photogenic at all, and I prefer my place to be behind the camera. If I were to post photos of myself at some point, it’s most likely going to be ones that don’t have my face in it.
Sorry, anon^^

any souce for the pythia being over fifty? i saw that websites claim that but they dont link to any initial source. p.s. i know late trad. pythias were older women, its the precise age that got me curios
Here's a link from Britannica that mentions her age.
I wrote an essay all about the Pythia a few years back for my Greek Religion class in college and through my research I learned there was a myth where the first Pythias were young virgins who kept getting kidnapped and SA'd so they made a rule in the temple of Delphi where only women over the age of 50 could be the Pythia in order to dissuade people from kidnapping her because to the ancient Greeks they were seen as undesirable (Aristophanes mentions this POV in Lysastrata: the women go on a sex strike and lock themselves away from the men and the men only have access to elderly women whom they didn't want).
I will look into my books to give you sources I used for my own essay but I try to stick to free sites online whenever I give sources on Tumblr in order to make the information both free and easy to access because the very frustrating truth is that most scholars keep credible information behind a paywall or you need to buy a book in order to access that information.
It's such BS how this information is only really accessible to people who have the economic means to pay for it but unfortunately Greco-Roman studies are jealously guarded by the "elite" who try to keep everyone else out of it by making it hard to access, especially for free and especially online.
