What would've happened if Convoy had been unable to be saved?

If you mean before he was born, Optimus would’ve been inconsolable. As Orion he wanted a family with D-16 more than anything, and not only did he get shot but now he’s lost that chance too. He would have absolutely lost it from the grief and most likely would’ve told Dee outright what he’d done instead of hide it like he did in the fic with Convoy alive.

I like to think Dee would’ve stopped after learning what he’d fully done, and Megatron would have never been born. Their relationship would never be the same, but at the same time the war would never have happened.

If you mean when he’d been attacked by Skywarp, then it would have ended the war probably the same day. Optimus would’ve gone ballistic and he would’ve torn through everything and everyone in his path. The grief would’ve destroyed him, and then there’s Megatron. He would’ve finally discovered he had a son only by seeing his dead body, and I honestly think it would’ve taken the fight out of him. The war would be over pretty quick after that, and Optimus and Megatron would both be absolutely destroyed by grief.

Maybe then grief would’ve united them instead of tearing them apart.

I gotta ask: How would your fics play out with the Shattered Glass version of the characters?

Oh god ASTRONOMICALLY worse.

First of all, Convoy would 100% not be a secret, Optimus would’ve been dangling him over Megatron’s head the second he was born and rubbing it in his face that he can’t see his son. At the same time, he probably would’ve been raised to hate his own sire to the point where even if Megatron did manage to get him away from his crazy ass carrier, it wouldn’t end well. And I doubt Optimus would be treating Convoy well. He needs a successor that’s willing to be as cruel as he is, and you can’t get that by treating a kid nicely.

Cirrus would’ve probably traded places with Moonstream narratively and brought them to the Autobots for her protection. It’s not out of the question of him trying to worm his way into a relationship or even baby trap someone from High Command to cement their place. Maybe even Optimus himself. The one thing I think that would absolutely transcend universes is Cirrus and Moonstream’s bond. They would die for each other in any continuity.

Blitzkrieg would be a wreck, but for a much different reason than he is now. Chromebolt would be SO much less ethical and would probably be extremely disappointed that Blitzkrieg was born as small as he was. He’d probably spend most of his life angry and reckless and trying to prove himself to a sire that thinks of him almost like an experimental failure.

Megatron would probably be mostly fighting to get Convoy back, but for a much better reason than in my actual canon. He knows Optimus is treating him badly, and he wants to protect his son, but he can’t which is absolutely tearing him apart.

In short, even WORSE than it is now. Thankfully, that is not the real timeline of the fic so it will stay in my evil brain forever.

Basically what happened was I got an email to my very hyperspecific email address (I literally only use it for AO3 so it’s not really anywhere else) that there was a request made to change my password. It was made while I was asleep, so it definitely wasn’t me, so I went “oh absolutely not” and went through my entire account to ensure nothing happened. Luckily, nothing did, and we’re all good, but tbh I’m a very paranoid person so getting an alert to change my password when I didn’t request it freaked me out. However, it made me feel better that I had never shared my password with literally anyone and that it’s super weird so no one would guess it.

Moral of the story: don’t share passwords with anyone, and check your account before you panic. If you feel uneasy and want the extra security, change your own password before other people can
