Silco, when you have some free time to read, what do you enjoy reading? What are your favorite themes?

I read for a short while before sleeping most nights. Mostly history, politics, philosophy. Occasionally fiction, in which case I lean towards the classics. However, if I hear of any new publication causing a cultural stir then I make it my business to read it regardless of genre. The written word is a powerful and fascinating weapon in the hands of someone who knows how to wield it. With a few strokes of ink you can rally or cull the hope of an entire populous. You can falsify truth, and validate lies. Incite hatred, rouse devotion.

Any piece of writing causing a seismic societal ripple is worth my time investigating.

Favourite book? Why did you start smoking cigars? And why are you so pretty?

I'm quite fond of any political science or philosophy books, to no surprise. I came across them when I was much younger, having snuck into the Academy's library during a heist. Unfortunately, I don't have many books in my possession in Zaun at the moment; the humidity of the fissures ensures a short life to traditional paper documents.

Cigars, well that's a bit more complex. A result of my affliction with the river toxins, I've lost a good bit of nerve function on the left side of my face; part of that affects my sinuses, and thusly my sense of taste.

Most would take up cigars for their robust and complex flavors, in comparison to traditional cigarettes; I prefer cigars because of how the smoke feels on my tongue. I cannot taste it, but the thickness of the smoke and the subtle ways flavor manifests as sensation on the tongue is an interesting experience.

The higher quality tobacco is also an upgrade from my hand-rolled cigarettes of old; I always did make quick work of them. Instead of smoking an entire pack of cigarettes while I do paperwork, I now only smoke one or two cigars for the whole day. It's the difference between eating cheap noodles from a food stall up in the Entresol or eating a meal at home you've made yourself; purely subjective to one's preferences.

As for my looks, Jinx helps me with my skin care regimen, in exchange for my braiding of her hair. There's a rather skilled beautician up topside I recommend; he's the one who custom mixed my foundation for me, and handles all of Jinx's makeup needs.
