Silvi, I leave you alone for a week with those two and you've already turned one of them into a nerd, and the other into an emo. WTF?
I told you to just keep an eye on them and stop them from killing each other, not change their personalities and interests!
(- Lex @chaoticbeingbeyondcomprehension)
Wait Lex you're back?
Also no, I didn't change anything about them. They just chose to like those things. What did you expect? for them to stay exactly the same and not try to acclimatize?
Lady Silvi is Lex bothering you?
Wait, isn't that the person who's supposed to get us home? They're back? Does that mean we're finally going home?!
((OOC: This one might get a bit dark. So content warning: injury, attempted murder))
"Why?"
Sphinx looks at her, his eyes wide. He grasps at his neck as crimson oozes from the wound.
She looks at him, a sickening smile plastered on her face. "For my Master," she laughs, a sickening laugh. She hoists her blade once more into the air.
Sphinx summons his shield from thin air. The blade clashes harshly against it.
Why? After everything. Why would she betray him? The girl who had been his friend since childhood, the one he loved... the one he mourned for so many years. They had only just been re-united. Yet here she was, attempting to murder him. Why?
SHWING! The blade hits his shield again. Sphinx looks up at the cackling woman. He looks at her, desperately trying to find any sign of the one he once knew so well in there...
But all he saw reflected was the eyes of a monster.
CLINKANG! The sounds of metal hitting magic rings through the air.
"You can't hide under there forever Sphinx! You're already bleeding out!"
Had they not been friends just moments ago? Adventuring together and talking about their plans together? Why?..
"Why?" he asked her shakily aloud.
Her face twisted into a wicked grin. "For Set!"
It hit him all at once. He finally understood. The one he cared for, his friend now turned enemy. She was no longer the girl he once knew, she was a monster of the dark god Set. Nothing more than one of his puppets.
Everything she had told him... her survival in the dark lands of Uruk... what she had done for the nine years he had thought her dead... It was all a lie.
She was not the friend he knew. She was--
"You're the cursed shadow..." he spoke quietly.
A cruel laugh filled the air.
She raised her blade again.
His friend, turned greatest enemy. A prophecy of shadow rings through his mind. A prophecy that was now at hand.
"If the Chosen One succeeds in his endeavours, a cursed shadow will emerge from the darkness to destroy him, only death will allow either to fulfil their destiny."
Oh is this one of those asks Lady Silvia told me about? Fascinating.
Also to answer your question, yes, griddle cakes. it seems they're commonly called "pan cakes" in your world. Usually eaten paired with honey and fresh berries and fruits.
“Nowyou have to promise not to look yet, Haz'le.” Sphinx had her handson her friend’s shoulders to guide her as they walked though thehouse.
Gwenwas scampering around them, her clawed toes making little scrapingsounds as she ran around, and giggles carrying though the air.
Thesphinx chuckled, “And you can’t tell her.”
Therewas an aww of disappointment from Gwen and then more laughs.
Haz'lewould feel Sphinx’s hands lightly turn her as they went down a turnin the hall, then, strangely, the lightest bit of nature magic, peaked to mimic spring as they stopped at a door.
“Putyour hand out and open your eyes.” They were at a normal sized doormade of birch bark, still living and thriving birch bark, shaped tocover the entrance to a room that, if Haz'le’s memory served her,was not there before.
Sphinx wakes up to the marvelous message on her forehead, “Oh, well... Just for today.” She thinks Gwen or Viscen must have done it, but is confused as to why she did not wake up to all the giggles there must have been,
Sphinx paused and bent to pick up the little card off the sidewalk, wondering at the odd message.
Some had a bad day then. She decided and didn’t think much off it, tucking the little card into her pocket and reaching up to make sure her sunglasses were in place before walking again.
Something tickled her nose, straw? Hay? The sphinx short up and banged her head so hard on the ceiling of the cage it was almost night night time again.
Too much fear and anger was in her brain now though, one huge paw slammed against the bars of the cage and absolutely screamed bloody gore murder at being unable to even make it rattle or bend.
She didn't just want out, she needed out it anyone hearing her would think a woman was being brutally slaughtered by a deranged bird with a lion at it's side.
“THOUPP ALO GIRRICK VO! THOUPP ALO GIRRICK VO! KOT VO EEEEEEEUUUT! VEM! PAPA PROASO!” There was no way her parents would be able to hear her but she screamed for them any way.
The child in her feeling like they would always protect her no matter how far away.
The sphinx wasn't even taking time to look around the cold pitched back room, it was a magic darkness she couldn't see around, and the cold metal ring around her neck kept her from spitting the natural glow of her breath, even her eyes did not glow.
M!A Sphinx is inexplicably pulled to play with string like a cat.
Her eyes get wide at the sight of a small dangling cord of one of her curtains swaying slightly from the air vents, “Meroow?” She would have been appalled at the sound if she had been anything other than thinking about catching that enticing beckoning oh promised prey.
Two seconds later a huge resounding crash echos through the halls as she pulls down the entire curtain, rod and all ripping it from the wall to bat around.
