Vexin underwent a short process known as freeze branding, where a brand, usually made of copper, is dipped in liquid nitrogen and then pressed to the skin for X amount of time to achieve the desired effect. Some examples of common freeze brands are:

And many many other farms and registries use freezebranding as a method of permanent identification. In my case, Vexin is solid black and has NO distinguishing features. If he were to ever get lost or stolen, finding him could be a nightmare. But with his unique brand, if anyone spots him, they have an easy ID to reference and I have a 100% surefire way of knowing if it’s my horse. This is Vexin’s mama with her brand:

I’m going to do with no. The whole point of the Foundation is to, you know. Not release the SCPs. There’s a lot of protocol for distraction-causing for pretty much every situation you can think of, and none of them involve hitting any release buttons.

In extreme circumstances someone might utilize another SCP in order to aid them in recontaining another, but that’s very rare. Besides, most people are put off by the sheer amount of paperwork they would have to file after the smoke cleared, because that kind of thing isn’t taken lightly and every single aspect of it will be thoroughly investigated to determine if there really was no other way.
