hmmmm, i think its the little things. i emphasize that y/n is someone the boys saw as a simple and authentic person who didnt exactly try hard to be liked in a romantic way so that was already a plus but i think they all got their own reasons.
like for makki,,, i think its because y/n was the first to firmly be able to see him for him, yanno? lol okay so thats gonna apply to all of them but to her, he was an actual person and someone who had skill and value rather than just another background character. and she always made time or plans for him and i know i talk about his puffs but i think its more of the dedication and faith she had in him that really made him fall. and your selflessness and your caring personality that was rare to find in girls these days made you a jewel in his eyes. hes a simple man with simple requirements, yanno?

i think you would be friends first. he was very guarded as we know bc his trust issues,,, are,,,, um low? so you worked hard to gain some trust and make him realize yo, just wanna be friends, dont wanna hurt you. and i think you and kyo were the type that were best friends to lovers. that trope was yall because you were def best friends w him and you were his best friend and you guys hung out all the time and you were the only one he let in and i think over time his feelings built up and then next thing he knows, he was already falling deeper and deeper. his moment would have to be when you guys were feeding the strays at the alleyway.
it wasnt a special day, just a normal routine you did to make sure the animals werent hungry.
but as he was petting a dog and you were feeding a cat a sausage, he turned over to watch a fond smile on your face. he watched you as you grinned and chuckled and patted the cat while talking to it, saying good job and ‘you eat so well’. then he began to imagine something.
he began to replace the animals as children, little ones running around you two and bounding up to you both with their appearances being the perfect mix of you and him. the mini versions of you two and the great life they would have because you were their mother and he would love his kids the best he could and the way they deserved to be given. its like kyo was suddenly having a premonition and he sees the future in a split second before it disappeared and you feel his stare causing you to turn to look at him.

I really cant imagine y/n with anyone else but kyo, maybe its because I really hold a bias for the ¨i hate everyone but you trope¨ but fuck, he really does love her. (HELP im trying so hard not to cry right now omg).. it shows in the way he communicates with her, his love language is quality time and gifts, thats why hes SO sensitive about her spending time with anyone else. he really does love her, not just because shes the first, not just because she tries with him, but because shes so authentic, she tries with everyone, shes so genuine, you could literally run over y/ns favorite plushie and shed forgive you as long as your apology means something, as long as its genuine. and dont think shes weak either, being soft doesnt make you weak(as we´ve seen) but she protects him, she looks after him, she looks behind the anger and sees HIM. hes not just a scared little boy hiding behind the mask of angst, hes kyoutani! anyways.. y/n and kyo supremacy, sorry iwa you were runner up lolz - 🍡

to me, i dont think kyo has been showed any real love before bc hes been rejected his entire life so he doesnt know what love is until y/n meets him and she shows him what it is. once he knows and learns about it, he loves you first. and when kyo loves, he loves with his whole heart. because to him, you are the person who didnt care about him but what you SAW inside because you were the first one to bother and you didnt care what the others said because he was still his own person and other's opinions doesnt make a person. kyo loves you because you were the only one who showed to be deserving of love and although he might not be perfect at it, he tries to show it as much as he can and he might be awkward, but you know what hes trying to say and i think thats what makes him love you even more if possible.

hmmm, i kinda see tooru as being a mama's boy bc ive hinted thar his father isnt present anymore so he relies on his mom and sister but i think he respects his mom a lot bc she provided for them all by herself so he def is close to her and he literally worships his mother so her word is the deal breaker. in a kuws part, you meet his mom or his family in general lol and i dont think you realize how important and how happy and special it was for him that his mom accepted you and loves you and he fully falls in love since then bc you have nothing standing against you and his family just fully loves you.
ANOTHER boy would be iwa. yes i LOVE nanay iwa i absolutely love her shes great shes amazing and i think iwa just loves her because hes her mother and again, her word is everything to him.
an unexpected one would be watari. he absolutely loves his mom and he used to follow her around like a duckling when he was younger and he was always sitting on the counter while momma cooked and he loved those moments with her.
for the others:
this might sound expected but kei. tsukki pretends he doesnt care about his family lmao but he really loves his mom. she is the only one that can get through him when hes in a mood and he appreciates her knowing what he needs or wants without saying anything (aki helps her figure it out but tsukki pretends aki didnt do anything lmao). idk tsukki just reeks mama's boy to me and i dunno how to describe it bc im a dad's girl (i refuse to say d*ddy) but i think it would be the same the other way around, right?
again, an expected one is sho. hinata shoyo loves the women in his family and we all dont really his dad so i kinda see the family as being close. theyre always first to him and his mom is his world like he appreciates everything especially since she brought him to this world and everything like hes so appreciative of her 🥺🥺
another one would be bo? kou was raised with 2 sisters lmao so hes the only son and his mom coddled him since he was the only boy thus creating a bond and i think his personality reflects his family's dynamic and his mom def used to take him with her on a mommy and son date and i think thats one of kou's favorite memories and we know when kou loves, he loves with his whole heart so he expresses his love for his mom a lot and i canon every spike is in his mother's name because she (and his sisters) were the ones who believed in him when others didnt and helped him open up to the world and he's grateful that his family allowed him to view the world and its good rather than seeing it from the outside in his shell :)
another canon for me is teru? yuji is a hairdresser in his future and i canon he used to do his mom and his sisters hair all the time. i think thats why he went into cosmetology bc his fondest memories were when he would play with his familys hair and his mom encouraged him to do what he wants instead of forcing him to do something else. we know teru is the smartesf student or character lol but his mom was who told him to do his passions rather than go for something he doesnt want just bc he has good grades. and he really treasures his mom bc she is able to handle HIM and still loves him and hes just close to her in general.

Okay this is my first time doing this feature so I apologize if it goes to a completely different place or something but can you explain the ending of Halloknee because I still think about it to this day and ponder what it means! It was so good I read it through like 10 times!!!!

spirits or demons or bad entities are known to shape-shift and/or mimick certain people that the victim is close with. in our case, this demon entity or spirit or ghost took the voice of matsukawa hinthint as he’s someone y/n’s close to. so the entire time it’s kyo and her running around to mattsun’s voice but it was really just the ghost.
and in the end, we have a part where the entire team gets reunited but the ghost has finally appeared with the mouth and red eyes. his voice concludes his age as ‘sounding like a teenage boy’s’. i mentioned that the attraction or place was a hospital and people of all ages die in hospitals right? so this must’ve been the ghost of a teenager that died in a bad way and now seeks as revenge? or is just a typical teenager and teases everyone and is mischievous.
there's a part in there where y/n runs off and kyo follows her and while they were trying to go to ‘mattsun’, they were just running deeper and deeper into the hospitals with turning hallways and corridors and such. this is where it gets a little confusing.
there was something I read ages ago that said to be careful not to wonder too deep into a haunted place as the center is usually the most negatively charged and powerful source. this could mean having more spirits or means they could accidentally run through another dimension as its the most charged around the center so it would have the most supernatural thing to happen. that means as y/n and kyo were running, they ran deeper and this caused them to accidentally run into another dimension where they reunite with who they think were the volleyball boys but were actually the boys in another dimension who played a different sport.
i kinda referenced free! the anime in there with nagisa and rin as a hint of what their team in that dimension is. free! is a swimming team anime and this dimension is a switch of everything so free! boys are now the volleyball team while the haikyuu! boys are now swimming team.
that's why she was confused and i added more hints that y/n was no longer in her dimension with how strikingly different the surroundings was and the reason of coming wasn’t the original reason.
in her original dimension, they went to a haunted event in a hospital for bonding time but in this alternate dimension, they went there as a bet and there were no events, they went there willingly with no tour guides or actors.
just them and an abandoned, haunted hospital.
like their phones were originally taken by the doorguy but in that dimension, it died bc of terrible service.
the rope was for guiding you so you wouldn't get lost but in that dimension, there were ropes in the hospital to begin with and was there from the time of its abandonment.
the end, where y/n says to give her oikawa’s knee is a indicator of haikyuu volleyball oikawa that she knows who has terrible knee problems and she punches it to mimick the pain of oikawa tumbling to the floor and hurting his knee.
so basically, the bottom line straight out answer is, y/n is now in an alternate dimension and she must figure out a way to get back to her original one :)
