OMFG YOU'RE BACK
The sound of a body being pulled along the ground was what announced his presence before anything else could, though shortly thereafter, the distinct, metallic scent of blood followed. The Reaver had finally decided to return, his body covered in temporary cuts and gashes that would fade after several molts. In his jaws hung a large animal that he couldn't bother to name, all fur, claws and fangs. He brought it to Annie without a word, dropped it and gave it a push toward her, chittering softly.
Annie looked up at the sound of someone approaching, fully ready for it to be another Summoner coming to yell at her for setting the courtyard on fire a few weeks ago, and was completely caught of guard by what she saw.
There she was, sitting at the base of a charred tree (the outcome of her antics from earlier), and Kha’Zix just walked up and dropped some strange, dead creature at her feet. For a few moments all she could do was sit there in stunned silence, mouth hanging partially open in shock.
He had been gone for months, and to just show up so suddenly and randomly, she didn’t know how to react. But, eventually, she recovered, and glanced down at the furry thing lying at her feet. After giving it a slight nudge with her foot she confirmed that it was, in fact, pretty dead.
Of course she didn’t question why he brought it, or ask what she was going to do with it. She knew what he wanted her to do with it—eat it. And she would, just…not now. Now, her focus was on him.
"Where did you…Kha, I was..you just…" Her sentence trailed off and she rose to her feet, stepped over the body of the furry creature and wrapped her arms around his neck.
"Stupid." She muttered, tears welling up in her eyes no matter how hard she tried to push her emotions down.
"You…y-you’re so stupid.”

// about time someone made it back to the top of the list~ ;D
change is good. (closed rp with ask-the-voidreaver)
within the grand institute of war was a set of garden grounds, full of bushes and flowers, decorating the cobbled walkways that bustled with the business of a normal day of league matches. in the center was a fountain and a small pool, a few fish swimming within as the water cycled. beyond the sputtering fountain sat a towering building made of glamorous stones, some marbled, some a faded grey. windows adorned the outer walls, stretching from base to roof and trimmed exquisitely in bits of golden paint. above the entryway, within the stone, was a bit of etching that read "library".
the base indoors was lined in hardwood that groaned and creaked as it was walked along. bookcases stood against every wall, matching the height of the windows in some spots, ladders hanging off their tops. the heart of the library held desks and chairs, plenty for various people of the institute and champions alike to spend time researching through the tomes that nasus had spent many years collecting. a few smaller shelves of books, no more than five feet tall, outlined the central study area, the most common research topics resting within them.
volumes of histories and legacies of every city-state in valoran were easy to find among the shelves in nasus's library, but there were bits of information that seemed a bit harder to track down. nami, the tidecaller, stood in a darker corner of the library, near the entrances to the archives, flipping through an elderly tome she'd found resting atop a nearby shelf. for the first time since joining the league, she was at a loss. her curiosity about the topic at hand couldn't be sated, one book after another gave her less and less information to work with, rather than more. she'd never felt so lost in the sea of knowledge that surrounded her.
"nothing," she sighed, closing the tome and returning it back atop the shelf she'd found it upon. reaching for her staff, she stood, materializing the wave beneath her with her magical ability to control the tides, and headed back for the door. along her path, she offered nasus a friendly shrug, suggesting to him that she'd come up empty, and left. her thoughts and observations were all she had, and at this point, she hadn't a clue what more she could do other than to approach a creature of the void on her own.
trudging halfheartedly back towards the dormitories, her thoughts wandered to possibilities of where she could learn any bit of information from the void without having to ask. it wasn't that she didn't like inquiring for knowledge, she was just wary about needing to question someone... something... so sinister. but what other choice did she have? she starved for enlightenment on ideals she knew little to nothing of, and in order to quench her hunger, it seemed like her only option.
in an uncanny string of fate, as the tidecaller approached the building full of champion bedrooms, she spotted the voidreaver just outside, seemingly bored with the high summoner who assumed he had his attention. although he seemed busy, her thirst for knowledge guided her, and she began to build her confidence. it was just a simple question, how angry could he get from mere curiosity?
the summoner turned away, and nami saw her opportunity. bravely, before he could escape her, she hollered out his name. "kha'zix! hold on!"
her powers guided her and she floated atop her wave to where the summoner had stood before him. carefully, she lowered her staff to show she meant no harm, and breathed in deeply. keeping calm, she offered, "could you spare a moment? i have a question for you."

♠ - Painful headcanon
"there are a lot of things that pain me. thinking about how my family might be suffering, especially without knowing where i am, is probably the most painful for me. my whole people could be in agony, and i’m up on the land running around aimlessly in search for something… whose whereabouts i’m unsure of."
☠ - Death headcanon
"i’ve never experienced death firsthand. i’ve never witnessed anyone die in my time, at least that i can remember. so the only death i have honestly experienced is the sort of magical death and rebirth that we experience on the fields of justice. it’s absolutely horrid, to watch people you care about die, and to contribute to someone else’s death… but i can’t even begin to fathom what it’s like to truly witness someone die… or to lose someone close to me…"
● - Sad headcanon
"the thoughts of the potential elimination of my entire civilization’s elimination devastates me. not only are they unaware of my survival, but they haven’t a clue where i’ve ended up. i’m sure they’d be ashamed of what i’m doing here, even if it’s the only way i can come up with any information on the moonstone… and the only way i can ensure my own survival… disappointing them, failing them… these are things that sadden me."
■ - Violent headcanon
"i actually despise violence. there’s really no need for it in my eyes, the marai have been peaceful with all the creatures under the sea that we see as our equals, and we were never involved with the conflicts on valoran before. truly, i think i may have done something terrible by joining the league, but it’s something that i needed in order to help my people."
♦ - Emotional headcanon
"my emotions tend to run haywire sometimes. i’m incredibly happy most often, but when i get to thinking about things that depress me, my mood goes downhill quickly. i’m a positive, peaceful creature, just like the marai, but even we have negativity within us sometimes."
// ask-the-voidreaver | i hate that you picked all the negative ones. :c
