So my boyfriend just dumped me on Sunday and I feel really broken. I know Christ is supposed to feel me up with goodness and he is with me but I feel so broken. We talked about marriage, we were going to be engaged by November and I fell in love with his dog, his family, his friends and now I just feel so broken. Please send any and all encouragement because I can't stop crying

God baby I am very rarely this agitated by a screen but the fact that I can’t just up and hug you right now breaks my heart. I am so horribly horribly sorry that you’re going through this. 

First and foremost, this is going to feel like the end of the world for a while. It is, and I wish it weren’t, I wish I could tell you this isn’t going to hurt, but you already see that it is. And even more importantly, it’s NOT the end of the world. Not even a little bit, and I swear to you, you will not feel like this forever.

Secondly, Christ is supposed to fill you with goodness, and He is with you. But that doesn’t mean you’ll never ache, you’ll never hurt, you’ll never be filled with sorrow. Jesus was all of those things during His time on earth. You are not a bad Christian because you deign to feel something that isn’t positivity. 

What you do need to know is this… God promises to work all things out for good for those who love Him. No matter how freaking awful the situation is. This is for your good, it will turn into your good, it will be a blessing, it WILL, and that’s a promise. You’re going to be more than okay because God promises it and He cannot break a promise. I wish I could tell you right now exactly when it will stop hurting, exactly how it’ll get better, exactly what way your heart will find peace. God, I wish I could tell you right this second. But please know, it WILL be okay. You WILL be better. You WILL have peace. And you are not ever going to be facing this alone. Please message me any time you need to talk about it, okay? I’m always here. xo
