"God damn, you look sexy, Gatherer..." Ellery to Hunter
Hunter knew he was conventionally attractive. He had plenty of insecurities, because what sane person didn’t, but his looks were never one. It might’ve been conceited of him - he didn’t really care. He was kind of a loser, he realized the more he got older, but at least he wasn’t ugly. Sadly, yes, that was an inner mantra of his.
He didn’t need validation from anyone, nor did he necessarily care when he thought Ellery genuinely couldn’t be attracted to him. However, it felt disgustingly good to hear words like this from her now. He didn’t care if everyone else found him absolutely hideous, honestly. Ellery telling him that she found him sexy was enough for him and her opinion was the only one that mattered. And, fuck, did she make him feel like he wasn’t just conventionally attractive, but quite possibly the hottest man alive.
Maybe he was, because she was the most beautiful woman alive and she was with him.
“I have a hot date tonight.” Hunter said as a way of explanation, grinning as he approached her. They didn’t need to actually make it to their event tonight; their presence wouldn’t be missed. He was convinced she didn’t want to leave as she reached up to adjust his tie. “I had to pull out all the stops.”
Ellery rolled her eyes, but she was grinning right back at him. Hunter couldn’t help himself as he bent down to kiss her. He wrapped one hand around her waist, the other on the back of her head, his fingers curling around her hair. He quite literally couldn’t try waiting until the end of the night to do that. His lips somehow found their way off hers, above her ear as he laughed softly. He didn’t want to leave at all. “What are the odds I can get you to repeat that?”
