❥ - a childhood memory
The tiny phoenix hopped along the ground below his claws, wings flapping up a frenzy with every hop. For a moment he felt his ebony claws lift off the ground and he flapped his wings even harder. He landed with a soft thud on the grass. He clicked his beak in annoyance and picked himself up.
A light laugh caused him to turn and glare at the one laughing. ‘It’s not that funny!’ The child snapped.
Aesuithiel’s laughter faded like a spring breeze and her crystal clear blue eyes faced the fluffy phoenix. “Oh calm yourself Sparkles.” She hummed softly. “You’ll get the hang of flight eventually.”
With a huff Urúvion shifted into human form and walked over to plop down next to his sister. “That’s a lie, I can’t even stay off the ground for more then a minute!” The child complained as he crossed his arms.
“You just have to keep trying. Sure you’ll fail a few times but you’ll get it.” The Goddess of the air said as she reached her porcelain arms towards her pouty brother and pulled him into a hug. “Hey, at least you have someone here to help you. I had to learn all on my own.” Aesuithel pointed out.
Urúvion sighed and though he didn’t return the hug he at least could help leaning into it. His sister was very cold complained to him and sometimes it was a nice comfort. “I...guess your right.” He mumbled.
The goddess’s pale rose lips curled into a smile as she patted her brother’s head. “Indeed. Now, why don’t you give flying one more try?”
