56. Occupations you wanted to be when you were a kid? 57. Do you believe in ghosts? 58. Ever have a Deja-vu feeling?

When I was a kid, I actually really wanted to be a scientist. I wanted to be the guy who discovered aliens, or found out something new about space, or make some sort of medicine that could cure any ailment. Plus, scientists where the ones in comic books who always got to become superheroes. Not to mention that as a kid, I loved it when people thought I was smart. Scientists are supposed to be the smartest people around, so I figured that it would be the coolest thing to be.

Yes and no. I believe that spirits and ghosts can linger, and that they might haunt your ass sometimes. But I don’t believe in the kinds of ghosts that those “Ghost Hunter” type shows talk about. They’re more a lingering presence, sometimes good and sometimes bad.

Lots of times, actually. Usually when it’s after my mind has wandered, and I look at what I’m doing and think about how it feels like I just did that.

I think the weirdest times it happens is... well, kinda random. I’ll be sitting around, either typing at my laptop or writing at my desk, but all of a sudden I’ll hear a quiet whisper in the back of my mind. You’ve done this before. You’re going to go and do this now. Then this will happen. You saw this all in a dream. You forgot it. And you’re going to see it happen again.

And then it just kinda happens. It’s a spooky feeling.

Hey man, what do you think about religions in novels? Like made up ones. I read a fantastic novel that had a bunch of religions that worshipped the seasons, and had certain animals as mascots perse (fox for autumn, bear for winter, rabbit for spring, etc). I know a book that had gods that would give people items of luck or misfortune (one guy had a coin from the God Of Luck that, when placed on its end, would never stop spinning)... and gods that would pretend to be other gods to the mortals.

I fucking dig that stuff man. It’s really interesting to see an entirely new religion made for a fictional world, and to see just how much depth it can potentially have, and how the Gods themselves get along with each other and the mortals they look after or control.

Like one of my favorite pantheons is the one in the Dragonlance series, where they have three gods for almost everything. One for good, one for evil, and one for neutrality, and it’s all centered on there being a balance to everything that exists. It’s really fascinating and I just absolutely adore it.
