Zhen @ Lugia: "Kinda rare for me to see the Sea Guardian out in the open but I guess this is a good time as any." The Ho-oh guided effortlessly over the ocean. "Since I don't much that threatens a big Lugia like yourself, what was the biggest threat you had to face out here?"
Lugia thought for a moment as he attempted to form an answer. In the many lifetimes he had lived through, seeing technology advance on the island and the world around him, there were a few that he could easily pick out as the largest threats.
“Humans, while I treasure their passion and ingenuity, are a force to be reckoned with. On more than one occasion, I have fallen prey to their schemes. The evolution of weaponry, catching skills, and extreme lengths of which they will go to achieve their prize has nearly caused the destruction of these islands and many others on multiple occasions.”
At that, the great beast paused, having out a small sigh.
“It is nigh laughable,” he started, raising his eyes back up to the Ho-oh, as if in search of an answer, “ that the very beings I am destined to protect should be the ones to cause these very disturbances.” A short chuckle escaped as he re positioned himself in the water to better face the legendary. “But you haven’t come to listen to the musing of a lonely guardian, have you now.”
A smile graced his mouth once more, his voice regaining a brighter tone as he continued.
“The human’s never-ending quest for power and dominance over this world is the biggest threat of all. For their resilient ways and cunning to overcome any trial set before them is more dangerous than the darkness of the waves or the strength of any other legendary I have yet to meet. Even I, with the force to alter the very Beast of the Sea was useless against them without their help so long ago….But that is a story for another time.”
Shaking his head, he returned his attention to the colorful creature hovering above the churning waters.
“And what of you? Do you face a similar difficulty with the humans you’ve encountered?”
