((Just because...))
Silence...
That's all that could be heard as Orcus looked over the vast terrain of Sugar Rush...
Silence...
He gazed at the candy cane trees as they shone in the Sugar Rush sun..
Silence...
He gazed at the many homes of the candy citizens and sugar rush racers that moved about without care as if no game shattering event had taken place just a few days ago..
Silence...
He watched each and every single one of them as they tended to their daily activities. Some washed their karts, others spoke with each other, and some continued to feast themselves upon an assortment of candies.
Silence...
He simply stood there as he took it all in, as he took in every. single. detail.
Silence...
He watched how happy everyone had been. How totally oblivious they seemed. It was almost as if he had never died...or even existed to them..
Silence...
His eyes stung him as he fought back his tears...thinking of his friend who was no longer alive...
Silence...
He thought of all that his teacher had taught him, all that he had shown him. All that he could have learned from him...
Silence...
He missed him. He wish that he were still alive...or at least that he could have had the chance to say good bye..He wished he could have seen him take on that behemoth and rise victoriously for one last time. He wished for the opportunity to hug him and offer him one last mischievous yet somehow...innocent grin. He wished that everything was different.
Silence...
He wished and wished, and wished some more. He wished so hard, that he began to speak out loud as he said his goodbyes to his friend.
"Mr. Ralph?"
Silence...
Icarus wouldn't need him, he was sorry to leave him, however. Ms. Askari and Ms. Nook would be heartbroken. Vanellope would be crushed. Mr. Bill...I'm sure he would take just a little hard...Ms. Cindy...
He only hoped that she would continue to be well. He hoped that all of them would continue to be well in his absence. It was all he could do....hope..
Struggling to fight back his tears, he issued his final words before heaving his backpack on his back and looking up to the cotton candy clouds in the sugar rush sky...
"Th.....Th-th-thank you....my friends..you made my stay here worth while...."
Silence...
Silence...
Harsh, cruel, and undeniable silence..
Issuing his final goodbye, he fixed the brim of his cap, furrowed his brow, tensed his calf muscles and then shot up into the sky in a blaze of light..however..
there was no sonic boom that resounded across the sky...
there was no abrupt flash of light that issued against the sugary heavens...
there was no sound of the slicing of air that issued from the peak of Diet cola mountain..
there was only silence...cold...hard..but absolute silence..
The child burst through the firmament of sugar rush and out into the cold and lonely vacuum of space...
Never to return to the sweet and cheerful welcome that would always be given in the land of sugar rush..
but to venture out further into space...
and to leave the gaming Universe...
never to return again..
