4 parts anon here ugh yes as much as it pains me to admit because this is a show that's built on the "found family" trope the way some of them treated daisy was so f*cking shitty and makes my blood boil like they were so focused on portraying fitzsimmons as this epic love story they completely decimated daisy in their wake and effed up what I thought up until the beginning of s5 were great friendships and it was so unecessary like what the hell were they thinking (part1)
Do they realize her basically did the same thing to her that nathaniel did which is why to be honest although I was upset about the whole we only meet one time a year in the framework thing now i'm so relieved because she deserves so much better and you know what she got it sousa showed more care and devotion towards her in 10 eps then some of them did in the whole show also the fact that they gave her a BIOLOGICAL sister (part2)
Part3) it's like they took a step back and knew they fucked up with daisy in the last few seasons and them brought back the focus on her in season 7 and we got to see her be everything she saved the world she had a storyline with her mom and sister she had a love story and its what she deserves being the queen she is and if we don't get a spinoff my headcannon is in time she'll have an even better family with those two and more and she'll only think fondly on her shield one like distant memory
(Part4) I mean she'll always love them and be there if they need her because she's amazing and fiercely loyal but that void that longing she's always had to belong to have a family that will be filled and then some she'll have everything she ever wanted and more and then in 5 yrs instead of being the last 1 in the framework with a sad look on her face she'll greet them happily and then have to skedaddle because shes in the middle of a family dinner with her sister her husband bio and adopted kids
In season 6 when Daisy said she wanted her own Fitz, I don’t think she meant someone like Fitz... what she meant was she wanted someone who loved her unconditionally and always put her first just like Fitz did with Simmons. And it’s because she so clearly cared more about the team than they did about her.
In the final season there was a heavy emphasis on Daisy specifically being heartbroken by the team breaking up while everyone else was completely okay with it and ready to move on. Like you said, she was the last person to leave the framework after that meeting, and before that she mentions twice she doesn’t want the team to break up and was brought to tears over the thought. Even way back in season 3 when Hive took over her mind and gave Daisy that sense of belonging, Coulson took notice that Daisy felt lonely within SHIELD. “From what Fitz-Simmons have said, Hive's infections only heightens feelings she already has. Daisy's always longed for a family, for connection. I thought I could give it to her with S.H.I.E.L.D.“ Like you said she loves the team and they love her back and they are family, but they were her home or her final destination, they were just a step along the way. They all had people and connections outside of Daisy that mattered more to them and that they wanted to move on with, and she could sense that even before the final season.
With Kora and Sousa Daisy now has two Fitz’s. They’ll never disband the team and leave her behind, because Kora is her biological sister and Sousa is her boyfriend and they’ll be connected for the rest of her life. Maurissa said in an interview “The whole drive of Daisy’s character arc was, she was in search for her identity. She was in search for her family and where she came from. And what she stumbled upon was new one, and so at the end, it’s very clear that she is actually starting her own little family in space, with the man she loves and her actual sister.” It’s like you said, they probably noticed how dirty they did Daisy and wanted to make amends to her character.
I’m very happy with Daisy’s ending because not only did she find her own new family with even closer connections than before, but she’s still connected to the old team. They’re all still in contact. So she lost no one but gained what she always desired - a home.
